Beaulieu Supercar Showdown 25th August
Discussion
Good to see a decent turn out although obviously down on last year due to the weather. The rain was relentless so we spent a lot of the day in the brabazon drinking tea but good to catch up with lots of people!
Also a thanks to lambourghini pangbourne for breakfast and a nice run down to Beaulieu.
Definitely an event to have in the diary every year.
Paul.

Did some level of run happen in the end? We got into position about 10 minutes before the 12pm run, and half an hour of rain waiting later we gave up when people seemed to get some sort of announcement in the main arena that we couldn't hear but could only presume meant it was cancelled.
It could well have been the rain dampening my spirits but I wasn't too enthused by the day as a whole. The level of 'interesting' cars was far overwhelmed by the level of umbrella dodging I was having to do to leave with my eyes still in one piece!
Mental to see that the 'orange' car was still in the museum about 20 years after my last visit there when I remember it being there!

Sadly a rather wet day, but nothing could have been done about that - although as mentioned earlier it did bring about the sport of Umbrella dodging
I did a run at around 13.30 in the end and tried my best in the conditions.
I heard that a fair few others ran but then the rain once again returned in abundance, forcing H&S to make the call to stop the runs.
As he said in the briefing- who would want to be him in that position? - not me for sure!
Thankfully the drivers marquee had a plentiful supply of tea and coffee, which is where I retired to until the end of the day.

For those interested, I've uploaded some photos of the convoy from Lamborghini Pangbourne and the show in the pistonheads supercar section..

Sorry to have dragged this back up but after a bit of tidying up, my pics from Monday. Sadly by the time I got home, my camera succumbed to all that water & the screen died.
