JLR Classic Breakfast Club - Saturday 25th May

Our good friends over at JLR are hosting a JLR Classic Breakfast Club meet this weekend (Saturday 25th May), and are hoping to have some PHers along for the morning, too (who wouldn't, right?).

The event will be taking place at the JLR Classic Works in Coventry, will be running from 0900-1300h, and will have space for 120 PHers, on a first come first serve basis.

This special event will give visitors the opportunity to visit the workshop, have a good chat with the technicians, have a good poke around the JLR Classic Collection and see the achingly beautiful D-Type continuations being built.

Entrance is free, but bring some money for a bit of brekky.

Just a bit of feedback since I did go along yesterday...

Slight issue is, I didn't know anyone from PH and there was no obvious rallying point - I did see the Project 8 parked at the end on my way out that I believe was a PistonHeader's car, but as I was already half way out, I didn't stop for a chat.

It was good to have a look around, not actually that much to see in the workshop really as it looks mostly like an 'assembly shop' I guess everything is shipped out for refurb to another facility, then comes back in 'as new' for assembly.

Good to speak with one of the technicians - I got invited beyond the tapes to look at the Mk2 and get some ideas for finishing my own.

The car storage area was impressive - no photos allowed unfortunately. Not really making use of the full height of the building - I guess it costs a fortune to heat - but with a ticket price of £314,950 on one of the E-types in the showroom, I guess that isn't a problem.
