RE: British Motor Museum Sunday Service 29/01
Discussion
Hi all,
Just got back from Gaydon, from what was my first PH Sunday Service.
Enjoyable morning. I really enjoyed the museum, and the cars in the collection/storage over at the workshops. I'd be curious as to how other PHers felt about the museum, just out of interest. The museum seemed to be particularly enjoyed by those who'd taken their kids along which was really nice to see. I get to go there about once every year or two and find that it does keep growing and they do change the displays.
I felt the museum had made an effort to keep youngsters interested enough, and I was wondering if those that attended agree.
Either way, I felt the museum was a welcome addition to what might essentially otherwise be described as cars in a car park.
What do we think?
(Re the cars in the collection, I found much of what was there to be fascinating, but I did laugh to myself as it might also be described as two floors of absolute old sh*t. I think one of the reasons I'm asking is that I have got old now, and am now finding stuff like Austin Princesses interesting. Is it me? )

Was a good morning 2hr drive each way for us but we had a blast on way up. Nice selection of cars and what seemed like 100 golfs turn up. I own a golf but didn’t expect that many haha.
The museum on the other hand was a bit poor I was told it’s huge and way better than beaulieu but I disagree. Gave someone my sticker in the hope it would save them a tenner. But all in all a good morning was had

If anyone got any photos of my repsol livery wrc focus ST. Please send to me on here if possible or @carbon_focus on insta. Thankyou in advance.
1st pistonheads meet iv attended 5hour round trip. Would of thought people would of been there a little longer didn't realise it finished at 12 but was a good show. Decent group of people. Hopefully made some peoples days letting them sit in focus have a couple of revs at the end once most had left.

Seen a few pics on instagram it looked a good turn out! My car isn’t on the road yet. Makes me feel a bit of a tart considering an Atom was there?! Haha (mDifficult was that you?)
Saw an orange performance edition ST as well. Really want one as my next daily! Wish I’d of gone.

It was a good day, thanks to the organisers (even if when I left home in the pitch black and freezing cold, doing my best to keep a roofless 200+ bhp Caterham pointing in a vaguely straight line on a set old coId ZZ-S’s, I was starting to question my life choices and my 6am alarm).
Some great cars in the car park, some great cars in the museum, and some absolute snotters too…when the designer stepped back from the first Wolsey Princess or the prototype Metro saloon, did he really think “yeah…nailed it!!”
Dunno if our group missed it, but slightly disappointed not to see a PH merch stand?
But a great day, thanks again!

Another enjoyable event, thanks to Ben and the team for arranging it.
It was my first time at the museum and I enjoyed it. I might even drag the boy down there in half term.
There were some nice cars out; the Emira was a lovely thing in the flesh. Weirdly the first thing to grab my attention as I parked up was a burgundy 306!
Were the Golf’s all there for PH or was it something else? As I left there were loads of Fiat 500’s arriving.

Thanks to the PH team for organising another great Sunday Service.
I brought my 3 year old and 8 year old and they both loved exploring the museum. We went in first thing and it was quiet so they could wander around taking pictures and trying out the kid oriented displays.
Also some great cars to have a look at in the car park.
Looking forward to the next one.

We left home and were on schedule to arrive for 9am but on the M6 / M42 slip road the V8 Vantage devided to lose all electrical power.
Unusual, it's normally see Land Rovers we see broken down around there. Good turnout, some interesting cars in the car park. Museum was interesting for a couple of hours. Lots to "look at", but much of it only really interesting if you were a real anorak, especially in the collection building.
