Haha, thanks. Great colour yours is - very unusual. I'll look out for it when there. Mine's Abyss Blue.

If you are in the Angouleme area and half a day spare it’s worth visiting Oradour Sur Glane.

A lot of people should visit my wife and I could not speak as we walked around and read all the details of what they did it is shocking.

Agreed. Not a fun day out but one that IMO is worthwhile.

Blimey….just read up on that….horrific times.

That’s definitely been added to the itinerary, although not sure the ladies will be so keen…

There is a place at the entry were they can sit and wait if they do not want to go inside.

Does anyone know when the entries for the rally on the Saturday are open?

Such as waste though. IMO people need to see this sort of thing.

I see no reason why women wouldn’t go round the village. I’ve been many many times and always with wives etc.

If anyone does go it’s a good idea to time it correctly if you want to buy lunch as the restaurants are usually open and serving at midday.
You will need three hours minimum for going round the martyr village.

I'm thinking of including this year's event as part of a Euro tour, I can see tickets are available for circa 30-40 euro depending on where you sit/stand.

Is it as simple as booking the tickets, finding a hotel and rocking up? Or, does the town shut down and it's all a bit complicated. I'd be interested in any experiences folk have had.

Thanks.

Checking here https://www.circuitdesremparts.com/courses/billett... looks like all the seats are gone already. They were on sale earlier this year than last. A lot of accommodation options are already sold out but there are still Air B&B places available near the town. I went for the first time last year for the whole weekend and it was very straightforward. Stayed a couple of miles away, drove in every day and parked about ten minutes' walk from the town centre. I'm going again this year, just for the Sunday.

Hint. If you are going. Book your restaurant tables very well in advance

Still no reason not to go as you can see plenty without seating tickets and there’s loads to see over the entire weekend.

Totally agree. Been twice with just general access and paddock passes and had a great time.

Hell....even been to Le Mans once on a 4 day trip and didn't make one hour of racing hehe

Oh, that's interesting - are there plenty of places to watch the racing simply by standing by the armco?

There are, and plenty of people do. Other, more regular visitors would know better than I do, but the non-grandstand spectator areas looked pretty crowded with very restricted views. Not sure I'd have driven all the way from England for that, while the views from the stands were perfect.

I agree. But the racing is fairly tame IMO, however it’s great to see all of the cars and experience the atmosphere.
