I have found a loose cable, which identifies low oil pressure. I am unable to re-attach this as it looks like the covering plastic housing has come apart. Is this a readily available part? I have earthed the spade connector and the warning light comes on. This is off a 1984 350i wedge.

I imagine it is a standard Rover part.

Make sure that you change it very quickly as you don't the oil to drain out the pump.

Suggest you speak to Rimmer Brothers (they have a web site) - if its a standard Rover V8 part they will have it; however, it might depend which connector you are talking about. I just replaced my oil pump and the new one came fitted with one pressure sensor with a spade connector on the end (looks a bit like a spark plug). The other sensor, (large black cylindrical thing with a ring connector and nut on top) was not included. I suspect the latter feeds the pressure gauge and the other the warning light - if its the pressure gauge sensor it might be TVR specific. Hope this helps!
