Another Ignition Problem!

I am trying to get TDC to set up the dizzy properly to enable the car to start, but as TDC is marked up on the pulley, do you align the markings up with the metal pointer by the pully, or do you set the markings facing the top middle of the engine?

Please help getting desperate!

When you're trying to find TDC on the rover then be very careful if you use something through the plug hole as the plug is angled into the chamber you can run the risk of bending the screwdriver and damaging the piston etc if you don't turn it over with care. The easy way to check if you're on the compression /firing stroke is to just remove the plug and keep your thumb over the hole you'll feel it trying to blow -off then use the bit of wire etc to determine TDC.
