New to Monaros

Hi all, being new to Monaros there’s a few questions I’d like to ask ( sorry if they seem daft )
1) When Monkfish fitted their supercharger kits, what else did they change? ( cam, inj, etc )
How much boost for 580bhp?
2) What’s a Wortec focus pack?
3) What is a Pedders control pack?
4) What is a Pedders road response kit? ( f+r )
5) What diffs did Monkfish supply and fit? ( 3.9 )
Also, who would be the best place in the Essex area to go to for servicing/tuning?

Hi , superchargers injectors changed can do the cam but issues mot time
focus pack 4 k worth plus an extra 100 bhp , air filter plus it’s intake throttle intake plus bigger maf remap sports cat plus exhaust
boost was not sure but between 6 and 9 psi from memory
road response pack well worth doing and was bush changes front and rear plus a diff insert they do thicker arbs too
diffs any thing from standard gm 3.9 gearing to harrop diffs and other brands , 3.9 on a cv8 a great mod but no good if it’s supercharged
ap a must on the brake department
they do a better rack too as it reduces the number of turns lock to lock
look at faq section above for advice too

Largely covered already, but yes:

1) Varied depending on customer requirements I imagine, cam was optional, fuel system / inj OK up to certain power level (650ish maybe?) Not sure on boost number, it won't need much though

2) Focus pack I believe was remap, air filter, cat-back exhaust

3) Likely to be bushing related, couldn't tell you which ones though unfortunately

4) Again, bushes as above, the Pedders.co.uk website will probably give you a pretty good idea

5) Diff or rear gear? Rear gear I think options where a 3.73 or a 3.91 depending on goals / car etc. LSD they supplied trutracs for a while, also Wavetrac diffs eventually too I think.


I think NWJ Autocare is down that way, that'd be your best bet.

Also, based on your username, the Monaro is probably going to need about 800hp to feel like a Cerbera

Thanks for the replies, they’ve been most helpful. Unfortunately the username is just wishful thinking 😀 always wanted one. The reason for asking these questions is I’ve been told it’s got certain mods that I have no invoices for. Regarding the diff, I’ve got an invoice from 2010 for a rebuilt 3.9 diff for £1600 and I was wondering if it was an aftermarket item. Thanks for the info on NWJ Autocare, turns out their only about 36 miles from me.

1600£ is more or less what Monkfish would charge to rebuild it with standard 3.9 diff gears , they are a great car , full of character

If push comes to shove, phone Roger at Pedders (who used to be Roger at Monkfish).

He has a pretty encyclopaedic memory of mods he has done for cars and - at the very least can tell you what the Pedders pacs are.

A 3.9 diff works great with the procharger
