Yes they are very trying. Fitted already!
Does the lid sit better?

Yes fitted. It does fit better. Took a while to get the alignment sorted.
Reversed the springs aswell so it shouldn't pop open.

Yes I did twist the original springs to suit so it did pull the lid down. Doesn't open when going over a sharp jump. As per pic on.page 1 of this thread....

My original hinge was also glued to the lid. Are a couple of short self tapping screws the best option for reattaching the new hinge?

Choice is yours really. The slots are there to accommodate bolts,screws set pins etc. I used M5 brass bobbins that i bonded into the new fibreglass lid then used M5 set pins.Or you can bond it in using epoxy araldite or the like.

Received the parcel just yesterday. Hinge looks well made. Will be fitted during winter I guess.
