Shared components

I wouldnt know how to go about it, but is there a list of shared or alternative components for our cars? for example would a ford / volvo part be a direct replacement for say a T350 starter motor...thats the sort of thing i mean.

The T series mirror wasn't the same as the Chimera one. Think that it is VW Corrado.
