Highly personal I know, but I've always thought that dark colours flatter the body shape of a Griff more than light colours for some reason. An exception to this is black, which doesn't work in my book either. Light mettalics, yellow, and worst of all...white, just don't seem to suite these cars. I can't put my finger on exactly why, but it makes them look sort of unfinished in a way, or, like people, certain colours, and clothes just don't suit us.
I've got a dark red Griff, and it's fine for me, it works, other colours I considered were dark blue, and a dark green of some sort, but my red one came along and that was that.
I think all models of TVR have a preferred type of colour, the later Tuscans always look good in purple or orange IMO, Chimera's are more forgiving I think, and tend to carry off a wider range of colours well, more than other TVR's. The "Wedge" well, they are the exception, they look good in any colour!

Chimaera owner here, and I think you are spot on, except it would be good to post a photo of your car.....please!
All the Griffs I have seen in navy, dark red and dark green look spot on - never been as sure of the lighter colours.

I bought my Chimaera in navy (Starmist) blue and always thought it boring.
It is now in a reflex lilac/turquiose colour and I am a lot happier with it.

Show me yours and I'll show you mine (oooh matron!)

Looks lovely.....good colour choice. It's to do with the shape front and rear I think.

Here's how a Chimaera can look in an adventurous colour combo

I have always thought mine was Olympic blue but a nice guy at a Griff Growl told me it was Vauxhall Arden Blue. Nonetheless I think Black could look great see below, for a B&W rendition

The red looks great as does the lairy Chim, I like most colours I have seen although I'm not really a fan of purple!

Press car Colour. I wasn’t convinced at first but it’s really grown on me and stands out from the norm now.

Haven't any pics now but mine was pearlescent red with a red top and magnolia interior, looked rather handsome if I do say so myself.

For me , reds, blues, yellow and silver work on a Griffith. It’s not a light vs dark debate but some colours do suit it better. Likewise reds suit a chimaera but not a Tuscan.

Although quite happy with the VW Dragon Green paint on my car my favourite has to be Mica Black ( Think this is the correct name)
I have only ever seen one example and with all black trim, it looked stunning!

As a blue owner, obviously I'd say that was the best, but in reference to the op's statement that light colours, specifically white dont suit, I have always found this very appealing.

My 1st Griff was Cherry red pearl & my 2nd was Ocean Haze, I loved both the colours & think they suit the car very well.

Black every time. Toffee or Caramel brown would be the perfect interior

I'm really blown away by all the cars posted here, some really beautiful colour matches. Especially that Chimera, that colour really transforms the shape and personality of the car.
But......I think this white car has helped me get to grips with what exactly light shades do for a Griff, I think they make them look more purposeful, more brutal for some reason, the rear wings are emphasised, which seems to change the whole balance of the body shape.
Stever, your blue car is beyond, really beautiful.

I think if I could spec a new Griff it would be dark pearl green (not sure if that’s similar to Cureton or Cooper) with tan / black interior
