Searching for a Sagaris
Discussion
Also, many are low mileage were treated as instant classics from the word go.
They all benefitted from the Smolensky quality control, that started in early 2005.
With the demise of the factory, they didn't go through that too cheap phase, when cars were bought on the second hand market and abused, because they were cheap. You could get a 2003 T350c for £16k at one point for example.
So,it would be unusual to find a " rough", or rotten Sagaris, that's seen a lot of winter salt.
However, 2005/6 T350s are also rare, and the T350Ts from this period are much more rare than a Sagaris and often benefit in a similar way re condition etc.
So,you can't compare an earlier T350c with a Sagaris, you need to compare prices with late model, lower mileage, garage queen T350Ts .
There are only to roughly 10 of them in existence.
Take one of these, put on Sagaris spring rates and quality dampers ( Bilstein or Nitron) and you have a very similar car to a Sagaris, not quite as stable , because it lacks the wider track and lower centre of gravity. But you have the advantage of an open air TVR.

Were I you, I would try to stretch my budget a little to get one from an established TVR specialist, the likes of HPC / Str8six /Shmoo etc as these present their cars very well and have a genuine passion for the marque.
I see so many adverts on PH and Autotrader where the dealer can't be bothered to even give the car a quick wipe over and hoover before putting their ad up. As for the yellow one I wouldn't be going back based upon your first experience, they clearly don't give a s
t if they can't spend an hour checking over a car before someone arrives (with an appointment) to see it. It's clearly been tarted up underneath not a good sign.
Bide your time they do come up fairly frequently and the right car for you is out there waiting for you. Mne has the wingback seats and like you I prefer them but I'm not selling
Good luck

Having enjoyed owning a T350c about 17 years ago, I’m tentatively on the hunt for a Sagaris to return to the fold. I’ve been to view the Yellow one advertised in Lincolnshire, but the having driven 175 miles to see it, the battery was flat and only managed to run for 5 minutes, without the dash working, for 5 minutes before it conked out. The others for sale are either very low miles, which puts me off, or seem to have been unsold for ages. Any tips or guidance from the experts?
Have sent you an email. I have a spectraflair silver one if you’re interested. s3dave said:
Why does the garage not use a trickle charger? Why should it be common practice to disconnect the battery? It's a bit of a worry if they are worried it will burst into flames. I leave my trickle charger (accumate) on all winter - is that wrong?
I agree with the comment above - check all electrics work - dash, heater, doors etc. If you had a T350C you will know your way around the dash menus, so check through them to see if all the data is present and the readings are sensible. For example my water temp significantly overread and I had to send the dash ECU back to Paul Smith for repair.
By the photo's the chassis looks in remarkably good condition, but there is something strange with the nut and washer on picture 14/22; guessing that is not original (certainly mine is not like that), you have to ask, why has it been disturbed?
Good luck in finding your dream car, you will not regret it.

What sort of thing are you after? An absolute minter in all aspects, or a presentable, useable car in good mechanical condition?
I might consider selling mine, fresh 4.5 by Dom @ Powers this year, I’ve only done 200 miles in it since so not yet run in.

Good idea to post a thread on here, I bought an off market car private 14years ago. If you had asked last year I would probably of let it go.

I know of one for sale.
It was the actual car used on top gear.
It however currently in pieces. Owner stripped to nut and bolt rebuild and just complelty lost interest.
Potentially a cheaper way in? If you're hand with spanners
Any idea how much the owner wants for it?It was the actual car used on top gear.
