Got 265/35R18's on the back of mine & 225/40R18's front, the fronts rub a bit on full lock but nothing to worry about, the rears are fine... Tyres are Toyo R1R's shame they don't do a 225/35R18 ???
Is that a Sagaris or T350?/Tamora?Edited by SeiW500 on Thursday 28th April 14:11
Is that on standard 8.5 rears?
Tyres with a width of 265mm require a rim width of 9.5" for optimum fit and thus optimum performance.
This, 9.5" width, I think is the rim width of the 19" diameter wheels from TVR power.
They, the 265mm tyres can be persuaded to fit onto a rim as narrow as 9" and as wide as 10.5"
But both of these situations now detract from the optimum fit size and thus the performance of the tyre becomes compromised and so somewhat a pointless exercise. As surely one is looking for the best performance from the tyres. The side wall situation of the tyre is a very important part of the tyres performance and if compromised by rim width, too narrow or too wide the performance will suffer.
The 255 width tyre is optimised to a rim width of 8.5" As one finds on the popular aftermarket 18" diameter wheels.
