I know it's probably been asked a thousand times before but my history with the PH Search function isn't good...

Any recommendations for insurance for a typical limited mileage policy on a Vantage - i'm based in the SE if it makes any difference.

Aviva are good, especially if you have more than one car

32 years old.
Self employed.
2006 V8V.

Locktons. (They only give you max 4 years NCD).
£760.00

For 5000 mile usuage premium. And NO 3rd party cover on other vehicles.

AND
Should I wish to extend my mileage by 2500 (7500 for the year) it's an additional £180, plus excess increase from £300 to £500)
AND
should I wish to extend my mileage by a further 2500 miles (10k miles per year-max allowed on this policy), it's an additional £540! and excess increase to £900!!!!

READ THE DETAILS BEFORE PURCHASING!!!

I use Aviva through an intermediary.

At next renewal, I may check to see if they have different prices by going directly to them.

I have, I did and it was more expensive. Must be something to do withe the source of business introduction affecting their pricing or claims experience.

'Admiral' surprisingly offered the best policy for me this year (price and inclusions)......it had been 'More Than' for many years.

ClassicLine for me and Pommehogster too. Must have had 20 cars insured with them over the years, always good rates and good service.

And they don't charge for modifications smile

Just renewed with Aviva through First Point. £ 760 and wifey has 3 points! Admiral quoted £ 1100 and said it was because of a no fault claim settled last year completely in my favour. Adrian Flux £ 950 but with new car provided if mine written off while car is up to 24 months old. Excesses similar in all cases. AM repairers and courtesy car included.

Have a multi-car policy with Admiral which was extremely competitive. Just going through a claims process with them at the moment unfortunately, but so far I have been extremely impressed with how they have handled it.

I used elephant once years ago. Had to claim, never again!

I use Locktons, flexible, great customer service, best price for me - but I didn't try classic line.

My first year with Locktons came with a free AMOC subscription, because I wasn't a member, so don't join first.

I think I'm paying about 850:

38 years old
Not particulary nice part of central London
Parked on drive
OH added to policy with no history of RWD cars
Track day cover (but with high excess)
7500 miles per year

No one else came close.

we pay £2k on a family fleet policy with Chaucer

thats for class I business cover, 2 drivers, £100K fleet value, breakdown, legal cover etc

42 yrs old, 4yrs NCB+

5K miles in Aston
6K miles on 2 motorbikes
20K miles in Range
20K miles in Volvo

im sure I could save a few quid going with the cheapest insurer per vehicle, but cant be bothered with 5 policies to renew, and can have 6 bikes+ 6cars on this policy .

With average miles of 10K pa and SDP only, it would cost 50% less ...its the business cover for 40K miles a year that bumps it up

Admiral for me, £404.

I had to use a compare website to get them to match a quote from one of their own sister companies !

8000 miles , £750 excess, 11 years no claims and parked outside in allocated parking.

Based in Fleet, so Surrey/Hampshire border.

+1 for Locktons.. Similar experience as Steve mentions above.

Also heard good things about Classic Line, whom I'll get to quote on my next renewal.

Locktons for me. I don't think you have to be an AMOC member though.
