Nice tour of AM Works with SCD this morning followed by a quick test drive in the New New Vantage. Lovely and impressive car. Very enjoyable morning all round.

pick my old DSLR Nikon D200 Lady - i know CCD Sensors are the best for real colors
Interesting you should say that - I shot almost 150 weddings with a D200 but when I tried a D300 (CMOS) it never seemed to look quite right.

That's an excellent green you have there.

Today I reset the driver's door widow module.

O/T but once I stopped doing weddings I impulse-bought a D500 just for personal use. I never found any software I liked for processing D500 RAW files so I fell back to JPG (this is for pleasure or free work like theatre) and if it gets it wrong there's always Photoshop to hammer it out. You'll like the big fast screen of the D500 and the massive ISO advantage; the D200 does seem very old by comparison.

Today I am doing nothing with my Aston.

Had an "interesting " debate with the MD about the price of individual tyre sensors where the batteries are epoxied in so you have to buy the whole sensor.
Given one battery has now reached end of life ( car is 8 years old ) all 4 will need replacing.

And then it will actually be the Module sir, another £1,000 making £2,000 in all. Plus VAT.

I hear that a screwdriver jabbed into a certain place under the dashboard is another way to fix TPMS issues.

Automatic watches wind themselves up with a little thingy that rotates back and forth as you move. When you consider that a car tyre moves a hell of a lot more than a human wrist, I'm sure something similar could be fitted in a tyre to generate the tiny amount of power required.

Being Lithium will presumably be sufficient enough for the Aston tax excuse.

Just the complete sensor required and a bargain at only £223 each.
The warranty has agreed to stump up for the one that has reached its end of life and I have said a discount on the other 3 would be kind.

Blimey alscar. Is that for your GT8? I thought the later VH cars used Beru sensors, so is that the price for just one of those? I know the older SmarTire sensors bought directly from AM are expensive but for some reason I always thought the later system ones were easier to get hold of and subsequently a lot cheaper too. It could be worth having a chat with James Hawkes-Reed at Aston Installations as he may be able to offer a cheaper alternative. BRM.

Yup the GT8.
I knew they were expensive but not that much !
The warranty will pick up one under the MOT cover -obviously just a shame that the other 3 haven’t gone yet.
Clearly deemed a consumable item so telling myself cost of 3 divided by 8 years isn’t so bad.

Had the underside of the V12VS cleaned and treated with lanoguard, also had the rear subframe looked at and treated.

Celebrated the roadster’s 1 year birthday (and the end of about 10 rainy days in a row) with a selection of some great new cleaning products. Then off for a drive in 25 degree autumn sunshine. Even encountered another new Vantage on the drive. They really do look striking in real life versus photos.

That looks great - did they do the subframe in situ ?

Care to share the costs ?
