Interesting how the savage depreciation on the V12V has now aligned with the optimistic pricing of the new V8.

Limited run with an epic V12, massive spec and probbaly £100k of depreciation already done. What would you go for?

Presumably that V12V must have been first registered in January, or February 2023.
Therefore approaching 2 years old.

Now to answer your question.
I couldn't drive looking at such a muddled interior.

Therefore I would wait because in 2027/28, there might be 2 year old facelift models available at similar prices.
Not launched yet, but likely to be a tempting introduction for AML.

The advertised car states 161 miles and 2 owners, Intriguing.

Rear is a bit of a dogs dinner on the V12 but it’d still be a hard decision as i have that engine in my dbs and its a peach.

The V8 would be quicker (if thats your thing in a gt) and more up to date though but equally probably lose more money than the v12 at this point in time.

The roadster even more so i think as you obviously cant get that yet in the new vantage, a recent 24 v12 roadster went for £190k, but also an undesirable colour…

Many of the v12 roadsters at main dealers were pulled from advertising circa nov 24, which had stood for over 12 mths.

Be interesting to see what they come back on at, in march (presumably), a gold one at hwm in particular for me, as my sub 200k offer was rejected smile

Indeed. At those price points the V12 has already taken a severe drop but possibly / probably not done yet and the V8 yet to even start its depreciation curve in anger.
The V12 is a limited edition ( whatever that means these days with Aston ) so as a long term keeper ( 10 years + ) that might also add to the equation.

At launch, the 2022 V12V didn’t attract particularly complimentary reviews (magazine or YouTube) and I think that general disappointment by owners has seen the cars flipped quite early on.

One other factor I believe is the ‘bespoke spec’ chosen by many initial owners of these cars with some colour combinations really not necessarily adding to ‘forecourt allure’! A great example of this is the one at Sevenoaks which despite multiple price drops, still hasn’t secured a new home! I suspect if you went into the showroom today and made a ludicrously low offer, they’d bite your hand off with enthusiasm!

Agree - Royal Indigo is a lovely colour but a bit more restraint on the red accents maybe ?
Clearly not a car bought to be flipped though so credit to the owner/s.

Does anyone know why the owner’s manual for the ‘new new’ Vantage isn’t yet available on Aston’s official website; https://www.astonmartin.com/en-gb/owners/owners-gu...?

Is is simply too early in the model’s lifecycle? If so, why did the DB12 manual appear so soon after launch?

AM Leeds has one up for sale now, same price as the Bristol car, 1,593 miles, one previous owner, in a rather nice shade of green. Not sure the exact colour but it looks a little like the previous gen AMR cars with the yellow accents. Six months old according to the advert so must be an early one off the line. Be interesting to see how this one fares. BRM.

Another newly published comparison test (by Matt Prior and James Disdale of Autocar) including ‘new new Vantage’ - “Britpack - £200K Sportscar Special”.

This time it’s up against the prototype Noble M500 and McLaren Artura.

Vantage section of the Review starts at 11:16.

Not sure I learned anything new about the Vantage from this video (yes, they liked it)…….

Includes a funny story though about how James Disdale got called in to see Andy Palmer (& Co.) following a poor review of a previous Aston!

It has always been the same. Absolutely no need for motoring correspondents to be given a telling off.

Imagine the following;

You are given 1st class air travel to an exotic destination, and housed lavishly in a 5 star hotel.
Shown a car prior to the public launch. Listen to a long lecture about how fantastic the car is. You hear how the torsional stiffness is 21.3276% better than the outgoing model, downforce has been improved by 2 tons at 127 mph and the shoulder width has been increased by 1.16 cm.
Copious notes are provided, which you can so easily and quickly copy and paste for your review.

As you arrive back at your home in the chauffeur driven S class, you soon forget any criticism you had about the car. It had probably only been in your imagination anyway.

smile

Interesting snippet from the Pistonheads article about 2025 arrivals “

“ Both Vantage and Vanquish look set to follow the template employed by the DB12 (pictured), with a canvas roof, a slight softening of dynamic focus “

Which may address some of the ride concerns for the vantage that some (including myself) have, to make it a good GT car.

I will test one when released but i must admit, the vanquish Volante has my interest more, an S version even more so, this interest has been spiked mainly by how good my recent DBS acquisition has been vs my previous Vanquish S disappointment.

If they could just get their pricing a little more realistic and residuals sorted, i think there’s hope for Aston, maybe..

Well out of all of them I would choose the DBS SL as benno said.

AM Nottingham has one up for sale now. Registered June 2024, 1,928 miles, yours for £179,000. No idea if it’s on the AM Pre-Owned site or not. Last time I checked, new new Vantage wasn’t an option on the list of models though. BRM.

ETA…the price on AT has increased by £5,000 since I posted this….could they have been told off for pitching it too low?! wink

mhh the old story again...to chassis is to firm, hard to aggressive to expensive.

But I'm still looking forward to our new Vantage in March 2025. A big improvement on our old 2020 model.
