Huge thanks

Will be following your lead in getting a quote to carbon fibre-effect PPF the piano black bits in the cabin.
Make sure that your PPF guy uses the carbon fibre film from STEK (gloss or satin)
It‘s the best CF PPF on the market, the gloss CF it‘s looking 90% like real CF.

https://www.stek-usa.com/fashion-film/dynocarbon/d...

Google it and you’ll find plenty of references.

If you PPF the whole car, I would ask for a quote to get the black parts of the Vantage PPFed with the gloss carbon STEK PPF. Looks much better than the gloss black body parts. No need to pay a fortune to AM for the CF exterior pack.

Our Vantage is already complete PPF with XPel ultimate and CC.

I don't like carbon parts.

Agreed. In order I like the gloss black pack, then carbon, then daylight, then more daylight, then that horrendous primer looking grey that comes standard.

Mat Watson (CarWow) does Mini review/comparison of BMWM8, AMG GT, Porsche 911 GTS (992.2 Generation) and new new Vantage and he ‘compares the four of them over a series of tests to see which is the must-have sports coupe for 2025’.

I watched this last night and found it quite interesting to see these cars tested together. The Vantage price point was significantly higher than the rest and I couldn’t see any evidence of why it was worth it other than the 40% (iirc) margin Stroll said they would be making on cars.

Has new new Vantage won any of these “vlogger influencer” group tests? I haven’t watched all the videos that have been posted in this thread as one or two of them really get on my nerves, but it almost always seems to be the 911 that wins, and this time it’s “only” a GTS version. As an aside just had a look on AT and I can see twenty three relatively low mileage new new Vantage currently for sale, prices ranging from £157,990 to £203,007. We will get a better indication of how sales are going at the end of April when 2025 Q1 numbers are due to be released. Let’s hope for some good news. Fingers crossed. BRM.

Really sh!t Steve Coogan as one of my friends calls him.

He doesn’t like Astons. Never has. He has a niche which is his drag races. Best stay in that lane I think.

Lol Davil. I’ve never heard him called that before but I think it’s a rather apt description. I would include him in the group of “vloggers” that I find somewhat irritating. Hence why I’ve chosen to ignore some of the videos that have been posted in this thread. How about a new rule…if new new Vantage doesn’t win the comparison test, then please don’t bother posting the video link smile
Good advice re MW and his drag races. BRM.

Having driven both, the 992.2 GTS and the new Vantage, one is a brilliant car probably the best, the other has emotion and even though more expensive the one I would prefer to own.

What’s the view on where values are heading on these? Lots of lightly used cars available for c£160k so dealers can’t be bidding more then £140k for cars less to an a year old? On £200k list?

As far as I know the current UK list price for a coupé is £165,000, possibly nearer £170,000 now since the recent tax changes. After the addition of the usual necessary options most cars will come in north of £200,000. There are currently twenty four cars listed on AT and as you say several around the £160,000 area. Imho prices will continue to slide. This isn’t specific to Aston Martin of course but apart from a very select group of rare models, AM and painful depreciation usually go hand in hand. The only relatively recent exceptions I can really think of are One-77, V12 Vantage Zagato, and of course Cygnet. Rarely do many of these come up for sale and usually when they do they command strong money. If you’re in the market for any of the cars in the current main model range I think patience is likely to pay off. We shall see. BRM.

Dropped my car in for a service and MOT this morning and had a brief look at what was in the showroom. New new Vantage looks very nice in Cosmopolitan Yellow but imho £220,000 is a lot of money. The breakdown suggested list is still £165,000. They had another one in Satin Black for around £205,000. Both new and unregistered. They also had a Vanquish 3 demonstrator. Not sure which shade of silver it was but it looked a lot better in the metal than in the pictures I’ve seen. Rear end/shield was body colour which I think is the better choice. Lovely DBX707 in Malachite Green too. The new cars do look really good and the interiors look much more coherent too. BRM.

Précis. Self confessed die hard Porsche guy prefers Porsche whilst dropping inevitable Grand Touring cliches about Astons. Vox populi mainly disagrees. Porsche guy lets his girlfriend drive the Vantage. She likes it. He gaslights her into agreeing the Porsche is better.

Fun fact. Harry weighed this “200lbs lighter Porsche” at 1700kg and the Vantage at 1740kg.
