That's a DB12, not a Vanquish. The side strakes and the C pillar are clearly not Vanquish

EDIT: Autocar have now updated the article, presumably after someone else pointed out their error
That’s a great spot jonby. Nice to see you back on here. Usual Autocar standards I guess, and I must confess I didn’t read it properly before I posted the link, but the question remains, is it still really necessary? BRM.
Often cheesy this stuff certainly is, it's likely done more for bit more publicity, buzz and interest, so perhaps best to just see it as a bit of harmless fun. The way things are going, 60's references might one day have a negative impact with one or two of the Connery era films starting to look 'a bit rapey' to modern sensibilities.

It's a.shame there's no upcoming film to showcase one of the new cars though, I think there is a genuine impact on sales. That new Vanq looks a good contender for the wheels of choice for the worlds least secret agent. I never understood the whole DB10 thing, what's the point of featuring a car nobody can actually buy?

While rolling around in a Bond edition might make one look like a bit of a plum in the eyes of others, it's got to be less than than having 007 plates. Some of these special editions are subtle and quite cool, I'd absolutely pay a bit of a premium for an OHMSS DBSS, as it is my favourite Bond film and I love that modern version of the Olive green. Shame the SH premium on those cars is insane, as was the original asking.

The press embargo has been lifted as of today. This is one of several reviews out there. BRM.

Reviews seem fairly good - I will reserve judgement till I see one in the flesh but I’m still not sold on the looks…. Also would have liked a 2+2 option like my gen2 Vanquish..

One of the photos made me 'sit up'.
We all like different interior colours, but this one is not for me.

In the forward shot, look at the brake calipers. That is the clue, so get ready.

I agree. In fact, listening to Henry talk about the virtues of that Vanquish, I couldn't help thinking "But, to my mind at least, that's what all Astons should be like". Forget all this nonsense of bone-hard ride, twitchy handling and fragile feel - leave that to the Italians. Astons are (should be) something that can crush continents in style.

I am beginning to understand now.
LSBT is the replacement version of the old Aston Martin Owners Club, red trouser outings.

The chap on our left, with his hand on his hip and wearing pink trousers, turned up at the wrong gig by mistake.
Arrived in a Mazda MX5, asking for the hairdressers convention.

You can see this very car - lets call it the smurf car - in motion in the youtube review of Shmee: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVlIwQgXTDE.

Overall he is full of praise for the new Vanquish, however he bought a 12C.

I think that’s the very same car I saw last week at Paul Ricard race track in the South of France.

Not to be Mr. negative, but there are 3 design choices in the front end that wouldn't pass my design choices.

1st - The hood (bonnet) not going to the end and having that line across it, not a fan.
2nd - The grill opening, I'm sure they could have eliminated at least one row, it's looking like my neighbors GMC truck
3rd - The headlights are recessed with a shelf in front of them, oh h*ll no.

Otherwise very fine!

I have a bittersweet feeling that this current range of AM sports cars will be the last before hybridisation or similar commences.

Furthermore, their designers should be congratulated, as they all look beautiful.

LOL, that one of them thought red trousers was a good choice is questionable, but the fact that they must have all synced on what to wear and still thought red was a good idea - and some with white socks - OMG

Oh hang on the phones ringing, it’s the eighties looking for this lot

I’d broadly agree with all of those, albeit the line across the front may be less noticeable in darker colours? Slightly recessed headlights not a deal-breaker, in fact reminds me a bit of one of my other cars.

The digital dash doesn’t look great, but the bit I can’t get past is the surfboard on the back.

Models without that panel gap do look smart, but historically, it has been a fairly common for Aston Martins to have visible front bonnet gap lines.
Was the DB9, the first Aston Martin without the line?

OMG, where was this in the reviews.

In the other thread I was asking who does this car actually appeal to and where does it actually warrant the price tag.

Because all of the reviews have said that it has numb electric steering, a slow dimwitted gearbox, with a longwheel base that suits being a cruiser best.

But for that money and those things there are plenty cars that achieve this brief, from a Jaguar XJR, BMW M5 Comp, Porsche Panamera all the way up to a Ferrari Roma.

So aside from the looks, the Vanquish reviews really didn't appeal to me.

For contrast, I own a Vantage S and I bought that because it had a mechanical/analogue feel, with an amazing soundtrack and naturally aspirated engine. All of this in a sophisticated understated package with plenty storage space for long trips away. I don't believe I can get that in any other car.

To me, the journalists said a lot of good things about the DB12 and I can see clearly where that fits the bill for some people, it's Bentley interior but more dynamic, but not as tiresome and engaged as something like an 812 Superfast.

So unless you adore the looks of the Vanquish I don't know why you'd buy one. But the video you have linked shows that the car has a lot more thrills than the reviews made out.
