Thanks wookitaff. The price fitted doesn't sound too bad. I wondered if an exhaust fabrication company could play around with the factory system and liberate some noise for a fair bit less?

I would be interested to hear about updating the navigation and speed camera location. I should imagine Infiniti like most manufactures want £300 plus for a 2013 update.

My wife really likes the FX. Having showed her a G37 at the weekend I think we might become a 2 Infiniti car family early next year replacing her Saab Aero Cab with a G37 convertible.

Heard from Infiniti Reading today that a map update for the FX50 would only be GBP99. I think thats pretty reasonable and have booked mine up for it when it goes in to them for the warranty check.

And can confirm they have a demonstrator at the garage with the exhaust if you want to hear it.

That might make you the only two Infiniti family in the UK!

Whilst still flush with the enthusiasm for the new purchase I'm also looking at how to introduce some DRLs to the FX. No retro fit option possible from Infiniti but the Osram LEDriving fog lights recently launched might do the trick as I expect they directly replace the factory fit fogs. Some more investigation to do on that though as they are not cheap at GBP250

The Nav update for £99 is very reasonable. I will get this done at the next service, thanks for the heads up!

Please do not do this. Aftermarket DRL's are the tackiest modification ever devised.

I offered £25,000 to Saxton and they said they wouldn't go a penny less than £25,100. I waited, they waited, I waited, they waited, .......... they still own it.

I on the other hand have bought (deposit paid) a 61 plate 13k mileage car from the next best thing to an official Infiniti dealer wink with Infiniti warranty until November 2014, fully serviced (now before pick up) and a full years tax for £26k biggrin The car is described as mint/as new.

Hope to pick it up Friday bounce

I like DRL's, I dislike aftermarket DRL's but .... I took it that our WelshWookie will be putting new LED lamps into the existing round foglamps that operate as DRL's also?

Yeah I understand that but I'm still against it.

I don't like 20 quid Halfords-best DRLs either hence the mention of the Osrams. DRLs are a missing element to the FX50s arsenal in my book but will apply a degree of taste and judgement rest assured.

Looking forward to seeing a pic of the new member of the FX50 stable in due course. Sounds like you got a much better deal than Saxtons were ever likely to offer.

Got out, eventually. They don't know what it is smile ccould have passed a small stone or its a bladder issue. Blood tests were fine.

Had the most incredible night of high fever the shakes turning to feeling so hot I threw all the covers off. Got up 6 times for a decent pee as well biggrin

The good news is the fever seems to have gone by 4 am and generally feeling much better. Absolutely knackered though so will delay collection until tomorrow I think.

Cheers fellas thumbup

Well contrary to SWMBO's advice I hopped on an early train to Wigan 230 miles away.

Chuffed to bits. Car is fantastic (better after I turned off the lane departure warning AND the active lane departure thing that brakes a wheel!) quick comfy and 23mpg!!

The car was virtually mint, two tiny stone chips that's it. Owned since new by a local businessman who just bought a Bentley instead, but most interestingly the salesman who sold it to him now works at Chorley Nissan ( thus they had it on SOR) and I had an interesting conversation with him.

As I said as close to buying from an Infinity Dealer as you can get. Warranted until 11/11/2014.

I'm pleased to join the fold smile pics will be posted tomorrow as I'm rambling biggrin

Andy, firstly glad to hear you are up and about, sounds like you had a good day yesterday, there is nothing like the anticipation of picking up a new car together with a bit of a journey to bring it home!

Congratulations the car sounds like a good one and very reasonably priced.

So what was the interesting conversation you had with the salesman then?

Nothing earth shattering. He said the chassis was based on an elongated 370z Chassis which was interesting. The G37 convertible (and coupe I guess) is a standard 370z Chassis even though the 370 is 2 seater only.

That Infiniti were keen on them to get the car out there so he shaved the mark up down to £1500/car and sold 27 in a week but then got a bking for churning them out cheap smile as they are working hard on keeping residuals high (or at least steady).

Of course I can't guarantee any of this is true smile
