Sold 27 in a week? I think they are struggling to sell that many in a month across all the dealer network!

I am going to see if Reading will lend me a G37 when I drop off the FX for its service and warranty inspection. We need to change my wife's Saab early next year and the G37 cab looks like a lot of car for the money !

I agree they the G37 looks great value, and nice car, whatever its now called smile

Not the same but I needed a cheapish winter 4*4 and spent £11k on a Murano, one week in and I'm so impressed I'm looking at FX50s smile
Seems like very similar cars but the warranty bothers me, the Murano came with 2 years nissan warranty, servicing and breakdown I can't get that on a FX50 but I may do something rash - private sale on autotrader tempting me.

I liked my Murano when I had it. FX is leagues ahead though (howevermy Murano was the older version). Try the FX50, you'll be instantly smitten and what's worse (better?) the mpg is not a lot different, used to get 22/23 in the Murton, get 20 in the FX50 smile

DSLivetpool, which car are you interested in?

Have to agree with Boshly, 20mpg is very achievable, they really are nice to drive and surprisingly quick.

Since I started this thread three of us here have bought an FX50, hopefully there should now be a pool of information to share about these rare cars to help with ownership in the future.

Go on, buy it, you know it makes sense!!

It doesn't make sense to the missus as the Murano is a week old (to me), she likes it so may take it and I will get an FX, Stockport said they expect FX50`s to come in to upgrade to QX70 so may bide my time - no hurry.

There is no factory backed extended warranty scheme.

Reading offer an extended warranty via Autoprotect. There is a Pre Warranty inspection required which is circa £300 iirc, they will waive the inspection cost if your car is due a service.

Have you seen the cheap silver FX37 that's on Autotrader?

Not looking at 3.7 and I wouldn't have this dirt of car without a V8 if it was my daily driver admittedly the 3.5 in the murano is very good but I am very aware it's a small engine and is too noisy not in a good way - FX50 will be the one and I think I can get a facelift / spec up for £23k ish

Wookietaff, have you been to Reading for the warranty inspection and navigation update yet? If so how did you get on?

Not yet, booked in for Monday, they are collecting the car from our flat in SW8. Have a few niggles to be addressed under warranty which have emerged over the last 6 weeks, value leaking on front nearside tyre, passenger side door doesn't open from the inside as well as the heated seat not working. My wife is feeling a little victimized by the car!

Will purchase the 12mnth warranty extension as well. Happy to report on level of service received.

Overall though enjoying the car tremendously.

Thanks, glad you are still enjoying the car. An update on the service received would be helpful. Did Reading make a charge to collect and deliver? Did they offer a courtesy car? I was hopIng they might lend us a G37 for a couple of days to try out..
I just got the car back after a wheel refurb, it looks so much sharper now. Just need service, warranty and nav update and hopefully the car should be up to scratch for the next year or so.

No charge for collection and return and I didn't ask about courtesy car as not applicable for us.

Thanks again. My warranty expires on the 4th February, the car is due a service in 600 miles so will prob try and stretch it out to booking it in early January as the Pre warranty inspection needs to be carried out no more than 2 weeks before issuing the new Reading endorsed warranty policy.

£300 a corner for tyres !! That's nuts in a SUV surely that's because it's a specific size

The only non winter tyre available to fit in the standard size is a Dunlop, these are very hard to get hold of at the moment and well over £300 a corner.

If you go up a size to a 275 you will have more choice and cheaper tyres but you will probably need to talk to your insurers first.

Not sure it's relevant but I've got Michelin winter tyres coming at £340 a corner. That'll at least keep the wear off the normal ones smile

Wookietaff, how did you get on with Reading and your service?

Evening

Car came back yesterday after being with Reading for just over a week as they had to order several parts to fix a couple of minor issues under warranty. I haven't driven it yet but overall the process was pretty smooth and the service fine. Having the car picked up and dropped off certainly makes life a lot easier.

Took out a years extended warranty (GBP720) after the mandatory inspection and had it MOT'd at the same time.

Will have a good run up to North Wales next weekend and suspect thats the first chance I'll get to see if the updated sat nav makes much difference.
