Might have also ordered a Monster Sport footrest that will arrive god knows when.
Let me know how that goes!Im really trying not to spend too much money on the car this year but I'm a stickler for having good rubber on a car, and these branded ones i've never heard of! Theres plenty of tread left so i'm really trying to be sensible
I removed the rear bumper last weekend, it wasnt sat right after an obvious tap at some point and needed reseating on its hangars. few minor defects around it but nothing you notice without major inspection. It'll do!
Theres a few OEM parts that are missing off the car that I just have to replace, the fuel cap lever has its plastic end cover missing, so I think a little drive to Suzuki on the way home on Friday and I can hopefully order one in. Similarly with 2 screw caps from inside the rear arch that are missing. Took me an age trying to clear out the wheel arch to try and locate them to remove the bumper only to realize theyre missing from a previous owner. Doh!
Checked the gear linkage over the weekend too with a replacement bush on hand, the bush was absolutely perfect so no need to mess with that just now, however when I removed the trim there was all manner of Gunk/Sludge/Make-up/Fake Tan/Dead Skin/Fluff etc underneath and within all the nooks and crannies. I went to town on it with a fine tooth comb because I couldnt bare the thought of that been underneath me!
Took me about 30 minutes to rip it all out, clean it and put it back together, rather therapeutic to be quite honest!
New battery for me end of the month, and replacement front suspension struts as theres some give end of July.

I can recommend Exide 079TE Premium Carbon Boost EA530 53Ah 540A . Target low £50 range.Great capacity and CCA for the price. I've had one fitted for 6 years and counting., Did a stint of short journeys and stood up well.
Its worth going for a big CCA on these as for some reason they turnover slow and if you go for something in the 300 range they can sound like they are struggling.

You going OEM for the dampers, or aftermarket?
To be honest I haven’t looked into it yet, I’ve asked for a price from my favoured garage for some OEM+ to see what they offer, the Bilstein B14 seem reasonable and I’ve read a few good things across other platforms! It’s down the road, however, but when it comes around I’ll probably replace a load of bushes and do the track rods too. Can’t help myself

Hey man, I was quoted locally at £288 for refurb & recolour to anthracite/grey colour leaving the car with them! (North east)
Thanks! I’m also in the north east so that’s helpful, trying not to spend too much on the car right now but the difference it would make would be huge I’m not normally one for debadging cars, mainly due to the fact it seems a lot of young Barry boys do it and I don’t like the association, however…
My “sport” badge was battered scratched and in a poor state, and with a quick little photoshop edit I checked to see what it would be like without. Looked fairly clean.
10 minutes with some tooth floss and hot water and fairy liquid and it’s off.
Think it looks much better, personally!

Has anyone replaced their bottom arms? I think at least one of my ball joints is in need of replacing and I suspect the bushes in the arms have seen better days too. The arms are £180 each from Suzuki, does anyone know if they are different on the Sport to the run of the mill Swift?
Not sure if I am allowed to link this, so apologies to the powers that be if not, but Autodoc have Moog items (recommend - and was recommended with previous vehicles by long term members on here) for 50 a piece;https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/steering-links...
Powerflex do some polyurethane bushes too!
