Just wondering if anyone on here has had the Super 200 or/and the suspension package fitted by BBR GTI to there NC 05-15?

I went for a very brief test drive in the Super 225 seemed great but unfortunately to hardcore as a work hack that mine is used for a lot of the time driving up and down the country. So I was interested in the Super 200 to give it a bit more punch and character and wanted some owner opinions please?

My main questions are, is fuel consumption greater for the Super 200 than the standard car when doing the same type of driving? I don't want fuel costs to spoil my fun.

Secondly is the Super 200 similar in terms of noise to the standard car?

Is it as usable everyday as the standard car?

Suspension wise I purchased my car on Ebach springs which make it look good lowered but the damping is very unresolved. Hit a bump mid corner when going hard and its like an Ford Capri. The Super 225 with the suspension package instantly felt like a good fast road set up, anyone had experience?

Also my car on the Ebach springs is a fraction to low and clips underneath on a on a daily occurrence. Does anyone know the ride heights of mine compared the the BBR Suspension Package?

Thanks in advance.

The 200 package will be a bit louder than a standard car due to the less restrictive manifold. Not sure if the 200 includes the bbr backbox or not but I had their GT backbox which was another step in volume again but didn't spoil everyday use and didn't drone.

I only had the 180 on mine but fuel consumption was hardly changed comparing to other people's figures but not sure if the cams effect it much.

What shocks does your car currently have? The sport bilstein (yellow shocks) are renowned for being harsh on lower shocks. So I wouldn't expect the bbr package to be any worse.
A few people complained the bbr suspension package was a bit too low, but apparently early springs had a habit of settling over time which was apparently resolved. Problem with the bbr option is that ride height is fixed. My car had the bbr Koni shocks with standard springs as the previous owner thought it was just too low. It didn't look great but the ride and handling were great. They were much more compliant than the meister coil overs I swapped them for which were in my opinion too harsh for an everyday car (although loads of people think those are very compliant)

I believe the Koni dampers are around 20mm shorter than the standard Bilsteins and the BBR springs are also shorter so you end up with a drop close to 50mm. No way that would work on the speed bumps around here.

I've just fitted a set of MeisterR to my NC Sport and it's running around -10mm back and -30mm front and still get the occasional speed bump scrape with a passenger on board. Some of the roads around here are in bad shape and I wouldn't say the new coilovers are harsh. Firmer yes, but the quality of damping is on a different level and I certainly wouldn't call it uncomfortable. I'm running 10 clicks from softest at the rear and 12 front out of 32 for reference.

Thanks for the heads up on the 180 and good to hear your fuel consumption comment.

Yes mine does have the Blister shocks its a late 09 2.0 Sport with Ebach springs fitted. Its not that they are 'harsh' its that they are way to bouncy and unsettle mid corner if the suspension has to deal with a bump at the same time. That's the main thing I want to resolve and a touch more ride height to stop the wincing when I hear the underside make contact. The handling with the Koni shocks I drove felt a step above mine straight away.

Adjustable coilovers could be the answer then depending on the load of gear I'm carrying for work (the Boot and front seat are often full) I can set the ride height.

Any Ideas on the cost of the MeisterR price fitted?

£760 for the shocks from Kam Racing, £25 for the damper adjustment extender cables (saves you from removing the boot trim to adjust them) and my local garage charged £140 for fitting. That was only a few days ago so I still have an alignment to pay for.

Worth every penny imho.
