What type of 'zorst would you guys recommed for a 1991 MR2 Turbo.

I was thinking of going for something like HKS or Blitz but i have noticed a lot of mr2 turbo owners have also used Mongoose, are they any good? do they suit jap cars or are they best left for the euro cars

Advice please!!!

Thankyou all

I can only comment on Nissan 200s, but I have heard mixed reviews about Mongoose, I know a couple of people who have had problems with the way they mount to the car.
I have a Blitz on mine and the workmanship is awesome, they are pricey but you do get what you pay for. The other thing is that the Blitz is a bit extreme, the tail pipe is huge and it's very loud with the bung out.

The mongoose exhaust on my friends 300zx is quite subdued but deep in sound. He likes it and it seems to work ok. The mongoose system I had on my 200sx 1.8 was really bloody loud. I liked it but my wife was not keen at all.

HKS and Blitz are top quality, but they're top money too. Have you looked at getting one custom built to your specifications?

(Edited because I've been up for 16 hours on 4 hours sleep)

Not Berkshire but not far away www.maniflow.co.uk/ (salisbury). They made a mild steel system for my prelude vtec import and it was excellent although only lasted a couple of years - to be fair they did point out that this would be how long it would last and that they did recommend stainless but cost was an issue for me at the time. I was able to specify general noise levels that I wanted and they built an exhaust for me that looked absolutely standard from the back but sounded great.

I was looking at a place in Gloucestershire....

www.exhausts.uk.com/

There were quoting a custom built twin 2.25" system in T6 stainless steel for £400 for my Celica. A Mongoose job was £280 plus fitting plus VAT, so it wasn't a lot more for a system that was *exactly* what I wanted....

I haven't done it yet. Waiting for the existing stock system to fall off....
