That does sound madness.
It comes with Bilsteins and Eibachs anyway, better to spend the money just buying an M-Sport in the first place.
As per my previous post, if they have done 90k then they're junk in my experience.
You are quite wrong about shocks wearing out on those milages - bushes? Totally depends in the roads it has been driven

Modern shocks are so good they only need replacing when they fail they do not deteriorate as they used to. SVR your money OR if you still feel that way buy a lower milage one spend £1-2k more on the car in the first place

Changing steering wheel- couldn't be more barring if you tried. There are thousands of these cars choose one with the spec you want fiddling with airbags could get you into MOT failure territory as would certainly put off 99% of future buyers of your car.

Without wanting to appear rude Beefy, you often state things and get torn down about them afterwards. The rev limit on the E90 330d I think it was, springing to mind!

Now I'm not saying that you're wrong, but I would certainly like to see some evidence about this, as I am always willing to have my eyes opened.

If you must have I-drive, go post LCI, Iif not, you'll get a tidy pre LCI for better money.

I reckon they were better built too; check door cards, sun blinds and the rear seats of both and you'd be surprised.

I like the LCI front lights but not the Klingon bonnet or the almost solid red tail lights.

I don't know, I really like the idea of having iDrive, and I believe you can load music onto its hard drive etc?

Am I right to think that all 57 plate 330i's are the 272bhp engine? Is there any way to tell for sure?

Life Cycle Impulse IIRC. It's how they referred to the facelift in the E90 cars.

Steering wheel is the same for all E90s in UK in regard to air bag, you can put an M-Sport one on an SE car and keep your existing airbag no problem at all.

But stick the £1500 you would spend on suspension getting a car with 40K miles less on it.

.
Not quite. Earlier SEs have the triangular airbag, not the round one.

I bet he will not take your last but of advice instead it will be too expensive for a car....

Actually has the OP bought yet or decided which one he/she is going to search for or is it simply the best one for £7k.

Too expensive for a car? What on earth do you mean, chap?

I have come to realise that I am not going to get exactly what I want for the money I want to spend at this moment in time, so yes it actually will be the best I can get for the money instead of holding out for a particular spec.

I drove a new 335xd at the weekend and in all honesty the way it drove, the power delivery, the paddleshift gearbox, I just loved it and would like the next best thing; an E92 335d next summer. A good one is way out of budget right now, so I'm buying something else to tide me over.

Tonight I went to have a little look at an E60 535d smile It's up for less than £7k, has under 100k on the clock and the black leather interior is immaculate (or looked it through the glass!). It also has nav etc. and front and rear parking sensors and so on.

It's an SE, which is a downer, but for the price I'm convinced I'd be hard pressed to find better. And it's being sold by a dealer. I will try to resist the urge to mess with it wink

Aternatively you can refresh a pre lci with lci parts if not frightened to do a bit of diy.

Love my 2006 e90 325 but only use it at the weekends and couldn't justify the expense of a new car. Bonnet was stonechipped and bugging me, bit of research and ended up buying lci bonnet, bootlid, bumper and tail lights from ebay, sprayed up at bodyshop, coded rear lights and for just over 1k converted mine to lci and looks like new.

Also got steering wheel retrimmed for not a lot. Removing it and the airbag is not at all difficult.

I've rebuilt cars from piles of parts before, so definitely not afraid of DIY smile

I don't know it all, but I've never been afraid to have a go and resort to Google and Forums when I get stuck.

As for the airbag, disconnect the battery and unplug it. There's really no need to worry about it.

Well a deal in principle has been agreed with the dealer and, all being well, I collect on Saturday smile

Is it the pre LCI 535d or LCI535d there is a big difference in mpg the former being mid to high 20's the latter being mid 30's.

Also how much more is the M Sport? Worth knowing - to me I much prefer the Sport or M Sport looks and it extra kit as standard to te point I'd not personally choose another spec model regardless of price.

If I understand correctly your spending the same budget on a 535d

It's a pre LCI and will be doing mainly motorway. I'm going to see how I get on with it, get it remapped and enjoy it.

Next summer I will start searching for a nice LCI 335d coupe.

Next nearest M-Sport 535D from an independent dealer that hasn't had a wrap and is under 100k is nearly £2000 more expensive.

Can't see any within £5000 from a big chain like I am buying from. In all honesty I'd prefer the M-Sport for sure, but a local dealer, peace of mind and a nice motor will all do for me.

It gets way better than that, according to actual owners. The remap will improve things further.

Good luck with that but it has been discussed many times previously and these mpg levels were found to be real world. It wil not be doing way better than that also most ho remap tend to use the extra power and in doing so that does use more mpg not many granny round in a remapped 535d are you intending on doing that? Maybe a 52d/.518d would be a better buy.

Worth a read as it backs up my rough mpg figures and corrects your way better mpg than that rose tinted view

Countless others if you google I'm not wasting my time in linking them all you can do that yourself. I doubt it will change your mind however it should reset your fuel expectations.
