E91 Straight Six Bearding

I would say put the car in at least 10 days before expiry, that way if it fails you still have remaining MOT and gives chance to get the repairs carried out - unless its a dangerous defect do not drive. Most common failures for BMWs are tyres or angel eyes.
Cheers. Please remind me to do this next year. MOT expires tomorrow, lol. In my defence I have been trying to sort this for over a week. Finally got it booked in to a local Indy who are sourcing B12Pro kit from ECP and best installed quote (900 less than bmw oem quote!), getting installed next wed. Took the car to see if could pass MOT. Geezer had one press on bonnet and declared the shocks screwed so would fail and not be allowed back out so it’s staying on the drive and getting a hire car for a week till parts arrive. Colleague who has B12 on his Saab took me out for a spin today, very impressive and not harsh at all. Sure the 320 will be even better.
So after working my way through most of the e9* back catalogue over past couple of years (e92 320i, e90 M3, e92 330d, e90 330i, e91 325i, e91 335d & e90 335i), ive finally got my hands on the unicorn.
Its an LCI 335i N54 e91, with a whopping 14k miles, full BMWSH and 1 previous owner

Needless to say, i am absolutely delighted, albeit a tad annoyed that after searching for years, it appeared just after ive bought another M135i

Thanks! Well chuffed with it Is it auto or manual?
Its an auto as it happens. Have a manual e90 335i as well and think i prefer the autobox for daily mooching.
I'll load XHP software onto it at some point im sure.

That's a fab purchase, Dave. Well done. What's the spec like?
I'd be guessing as a London car, it's well optioned, Xenons, and nav look to be there.
Finally, when's the combox going in?
Spec is pretty good actually, adaptive xenons with high beam assistant and heated seats are essential as they are such a pain/£££'s to retrofit, then other useful things like pro nav, panoramic foof, folding mirrors & tinted windows. I'll retrofit a combox for bluetooth audio/album art (have done 2 since we spoke last actually!!) and fit an MBQuart speaker setup in the front plus a Vibe amp to improve the sounds - had that in the 335d and it was probably just as good as Logic 7. I'd be guessing as a London car, it's well optioned, Xenons, and nav look to be there.
Finally, when's the combox going in?
Car came from Banstead - useless fact is that it was ordered new by the chap that wrote Only Fools & Horses, then when he died in 2011 it passed to his wife and only did 500 miles a year. Mostly to the BMW dealer for servicing and tyres!

Sounds lovely. Will you be taking out the BMW warranty on it?
I'm not sure actually, i think the fully comp one is £457 or so with a £250 excess (£613 with £100), but then that means going to BMW and lets be honest, barring the e9* recall, how many of their mechanics have been trained on/worked on an e9* in years. On the flipside, if the worst happened, a set of injectors, HPFP and/or Turbo replacement would certainly cost more than £613! I wont be using it until March or so, so will probably get the warranty sorted in Feb - there is a 1 month period before it starts iirc.MajorMantra said:
In my world that's basically a new car!
It certainly feels it on the inside!! Barring a few niggly things from sitting around doing nothing for ages, its immaculate gizlaroc said:
What do you think compared to your 335d?
I went E91 335d to 335i a few years back myself.
Only driven the 335i once (back to Cornwall), but in effect, it sounds nicer (although the turbo whoosh of the DPF deleted 335d was cool!) but is nowhere near as fast. The 335d was running circa 375bhp/600lbft though, so was daft when moving. Mpg wise it was 29 vs 42 on a run. With a bit more power, the 335i would be the better car, but the 335d's are epic if you do more miles imho.I went E91 335d to 335i a few years back myself.

Very nice Dave. However, it's not Le Mans Blue.
If you want another Le Mans Blue E91 to offset the above, however, I can help add to your collection if you want
Ha ha, thanks, but ive had enough Le Mans for a little while now, still have the manual e90 335i that i need to get rid of If you want another Le Mans Blue E91 to offset the above, however, I can help add to your collection if you want
