Also posted this in ICE but hoping to have some luck here!

I have a 1998 BMW e36 M3 GT Evo with the original Harmon Kardon stereo and want to keep it looking absolutely OEM, however I want to connect my phone to the stereo for audio and calls. Given the tape deck and CD autochanger won't be used I have those two channels spare.

I can't find any decent looking product online that would enable this - has anybody found a good solution to connect a phone to an old stereo without any drop in sound quality? Even the 3 car audio specialists in London I've contacted seemed pretty flummoxed!

Thanks!

Could you not connect a Parrot set buried in the dash board or under the centre console? You'll have to compromise OEM to an extent (depending on how near to "concours" standard you want to be...) as you'd have the phone held somehow and the microphone would need to be visible.

This is the detail of an install of a parrot kit on my e46 330ci. Looks completely original and phone buttons work on steering wheel,

Not familiar with the E36 but may point you in the right direction
