Just looking for a bit of advice, I'm used mainly to Audi's and couple of other brands and never had BMW before this.

when I have car in sport+, sport transmission (or manual) and left foot on the brake, when pressing the accelerator I can feel car squatting down, like transmission is pushing against brakes holding it in place. When I press the accelerator but not all the way down to trigger the launch control I can make quite a burnout with back end twitching and lots of wheel spin.

Does this hurt the engine or transmission in any way?

I always avoided that in Audi and it usually happened when launch control wasn't initiated properly (as if it was, car would rev but you wouldn't have that feeling of car squatting and trying to move forward against brakes holding it). But in BMW it seems you have to go through this to get launch control to initiate. I'll admit that launch control is very effective, no wheel spin at all and it just goes but that way of revving it and just letting go off brake before launch control mode kicks in is a lot more fun.

thanks

It's not "nice" on the car, but I have used it once then never bothered again.

it feels that its not "nice" on the car as you say but is it really? What is the actual damage, is transmission excessively wearing, brakes or what?

Wear on driveshafts, gearboxes etc..

As I said it's not "nice" on the car.
