I think an F31 B3S is just about my ideal car. Bramley had one for sale for quite some time, but that was north of £60k, which is way out of my league.

At least it makes F31 D3's look like good value for money!

Some progress on the site, but still not the real deal.
Spent an hour cleaning the interior of my B3 3.3 today. These cars are special!. It was the cars treat after passign the MOT yesterday with a few advisories.

One drop link, the amber bulbs are no longer amber enough and new tyres.

What are the reccomended tyres for these and where is the best (cheapest) place to get these?

The review is for PS2’s in 2007 though, these have been superseded twice since then.

Ah but thats not an Alpina is it........ha ha only being ironic I know what you mean. Mind you An Alpina B3s is the same price as an M3......ah but its not an M3 ..You cant win smilesmilesmile
I think a new B3s makes more sense.

I don't really get £32k for a 2012 D5 though, you could be in a 535d for £17k, a couple of grand more than I thought to be fair, but a big jump.
Unfortunately the bit about a B3s isn't entirely true. When I was looking last time I could walk into a Swiss BMW dealer and given their standard discount for company purchases could get 16% off a new car. However there was no discount available on an Alpina. From a leasing perspective a B3s would have cost about 20% more than a highly-specced 540i touring and about 35% more than a 340i Touring. An M3 wasn't really an option because of 2WD and no touring.

I really wanted the Alpina and see them frequently locally but from a financial perspective really struggled to make the case.

Do keep posting the photos though!

How you getting on with the D3 Burnham? I remember swapping notes when I was considering one a couple of years ago, in the end I decided the maths didn't work so bought a new RS6PE instead! I still fancy the D3 touring, may try to pick up a low mileage second hand one when it's time to change, but they're rocking horse dung atm
