Seen claims of 550bhp with just a downpipe and tune on the m340i MHEV. How true is this
Quite possible, but when you read what needs to happen to 'unlock' the ECU to tune it, you'd need to be a brave person to do it.
just had a read. appears to apply to the post june 2020 models, needs a femto unlock

There's hardly any m340 touring for sale. Which is a shame...

Thats the reason I ended up in a saloon. Struggled to find the spec and sensible price in a touring.

Another year to 18 months in the current climate of car prices.
I nearly bought a 9 month old one in June 2020 for £34500, that now looks even more of a bargain than it did then! You live and learn !

The longer the better as I've just spent biggish money on one. No sooner do they appear in the ads than they're gone.

Worth it though.

Got the call to say mine has arrived with Mr TRL. Picking it up the week after next, I can't wait!

That is stunning, good to see BMW back to form on the exterior of their cars. I couldn't live with those ipads though, not a chance. vomit Sorry.

Yes, I also have a problem with those big screens. I wouldn’t buy a Tesla for the same reason.

I must admit, I'm not keen on the general stick on iPad look, but the new BMW solution is one big continuous piece which (and I can't explain why) seems more of an integration to the usual central screen. I prefer it to the pre LCI but very much personal preference I appreciate. I miss the physical HVAC controls, and also the lack of gear shifter!, but I do really like the ID8 screen - it's incredibly high res and so much information easily readable without being a distraction.

Thank you. I’d never have got that and Google didn’t help.

LCI is more a facelift than a model update.
You missed the V for ventilation out. Important because that is controlled too - even after switching off.

The lack of buttons is a pain. The easiest way to overcome them seems to be to talk to the car e.g. "hey BMW de-activate air-con".

It's far from perfect but at least you can keep your eyes on the road. This is progress.

Ive dealt with TRL a couple of times and his posts on BabyBMW had a refreshing lack of bull***t when it came to plainly listing prices, discounts and the GFV of options etc etc:

https://www.babybmw.net/forums/trl-bmw-offers.80/

The above is a bit quiet, has he moved on to another website or do you need to email him direct these days?

Cheers, from a curious M340i wannabe.......

He responds directly to email, but I know only deals in M and M-lite cars. Absolutely top notch to deal with and the fact that his prices are competitive is a happy bonus! I get the impression that he gets a lot of enquiries so I was conscious of not wasting his time as he certainly didn't waste mine! Find the spec you want then drop an email to him. I won't post it, but it's easily found via Google.
