Well there is at least one M340i Touring in the Country, it was out at the BMW HQ Pistonheads Sunday Service yesterday

I guess this was BMW's demonstrator or maybe a press car, looked really good in this spec, even the grill didn't look too bad.... i was very impressed. hope to replace my F31 with one next year.
That looks so dull!
One man's meat is another man's poison; that looks good to me, all it needs is a debadge and it's an excellent Q-car (which is perfect for a daily driver as far as I'm concerned!). smile

However, although the existence of this car suggests UK deliveries of G21 M340i's might not be too far away, there's still no sign of being able to build one on the configurator....
yes

I like that (and the look of the new 3-Series in general). The beauty of the ///M-lights is that they are relatively discreet.

Thanks for the reply, apart from a short 200m foot down I drove it quite gently and and trip said 27mpg, HJ mpg has it at 28.2 average which was not far off what I got. Good to hear what others are getting though.

Anything else to look out on these, I’m thinking of a very lightly optioned one to keep the cost down, seems a good basic spec anyway.
I bought mine new in March 17. It’s been great, very comfortable, fast and no faults at all. Having said that I find it a bit big so will probably go for a 340 or Alfa Guilia next.

ETA. I’d go for the all round parking camera. As I said the 5 is a big car and the way I see it if you save 1 parking scrape because of the camera it will have paid for itself.

Anyone had any liaison with dealers around pricing/discounts etc on the M340i's yet?
The link shared on page 2 suggested 7-8k discount was achievable, they'll be stock cars of course, so limited choice on spec/colours.

I’m more interested in pricing for a factory order. I want MY spec & colour, not someone else’s.

Tony Lewis (TRL) at Berry BMW Heathrow is as good a starting place as any; his deals are usually competitive and I've only ever heard good feedback in terms of the customer service he provides.

The default discounts available on the G20 seem to be around 14% at the moment but over on Bimmerpost someone bought an M340i saloon through TRL and the inference was he got better than that. I'm hoping we'll see F31 levels of discount (i.e. 20% plus) on the G21 within 12 months and if we do an M340i Touring will be high on my list to replace my F31 335d....

My dealer promised to call me today with as much details as they can on availability. I haven’t spoken to her yet, but in fairness had a missed call this evening. I’ll speak to them in the morning and let you know.

I've had a couple of conversations and discounts are available. Has anyone got TRL's email address and I'll kick one off there too.

So, my dealer says no definite deliveries before end of q1 2020 on tourings but probably available to spec and order one in December this year.

Awkward situation for me, I need to decide what to do with my F31 by end of Feb next year....

Deposit given for 540i MSport, 7 months old and 4K miles, it’s already depreciated quite a lots already, so hopefully will steady a little, if I average if 30mpg I’ll be happy.

I must admit I’m concerned about the size, seemed fine when on a test drive but might be different when parking in tight spaces or narrow roads. I’m buying it outright so if I don’t get on with it maybe I’ll look at a 3 series later, at the moment the 5 is cheaper.

Oh yes, you’ll enjoy it. Looking forward to hearing how you get on.

I've got my heart set on the new M440i when my car goes back in March next year, but can't see them being available then frown

Might try and extend or possibly run a shed for a few months in between

Hi update . There was a 69 plate g20 m340 salon in black in Costco filling up last Saturday, looked and sounded good apart from the red leather interior. So delivery’s must of started for the salons anyway !

To be fair if the new 4 series has a grill anything like the concept I'll be moving to a 3er next.

G21 M340i now on the configurator. However, the basic price is £50k and it's very easy to get to £55k list with the way options are bundled as packages; at that money I think I'll be waiting for F31 levels of discount to emerge before I'm tempted....

The packages are awful imo. If I want electric memory seats I have to have a bloody sunroof which I’ll never use. mad

For the record I got quotes for an F31 340i with the M Sport Plus pack, and some other desirable options in early 2016 and more recently when it became the runout Shadow edition

At each time list was 48k discounted to 38k in 2016 and 36k just before production stopped

The all important monthlies were pretty much the same at £4k down and £400/month

Don't think I can see the G21 getting down to the above anytime soon

I agree, I think it will be at least 12 months before the M340i Touring is available at the sort of F31 levels of discount that would interest me. However, my F31 335d is still running fine at the moment so it will be no great hardship to keep it for another year or so! smile
