Autodoc worth a look albeit not BMW specific. Their DIY tutorials are pretty decent, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAzSn5nGBqQ

The lads at Hack Engineering are really trying to put some effort into their channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCq-r1WxOISD57kX7b...

As a Covid unemployed sound engineer (with a lot of free time currently!) I'm giving them some help with editing, but I would love to see what they're doing reach a wider audience.

Only a small channel but some great footage and a genuinely nice guy. If you like old BMW's and some British classics you'll really enjoy it.

I've Found Justin Buice channel quite useful, he has lots of videos on a 330i E90. I think he has moved on to an F30

https://www.youtube.com/user/justinbuice

Urbandriver is also quite useful for your E90 general (I think he has a 320d E90)

The 777 Garage is a good BMW channel, particularly for E38 fans

Day off DIY on YouTube - my account is too new to link.
He's been doing maintenance and some restoration work on a variety of BMWs (E30/46/83/90/F25), does the work with no lift so more of a home garage maintenance style.

Jesus, that M539 bloke. eekThe screaming, yelping and histrionics. 'Let's throw all new parts at a car'.

No thanks.

I tell you who is really worth watching, and that's EMS Garage. A Norwegian lad of about 25 who buys stuff like F10's, E90's etc and fixes them. He doesn't have generous sponsors and lies on his back taking engines out.

Here's just one.

Yes but that is exactly how M539 started out, quiet and subdued. He has certainly 'come out of his shell' shall we say in recent years.

You should watch the white M5 restoration with Jason Camissa in it, lol. You'll really love that one biglaugh Can't stand the guy. Jason that is. Stretten I like, even if he does yelp and screech and bore us to death with is stupid dog occasionally.

Here are some more, 'mature' channels, shall we say, for our members who are less tolerant of a bit of personality biglaugh

It's called humour; he's funny, down to earth and very good at what he does. Hence why he has such a following...

He won't suit everyone...

Agreed. And "throwing all new parts at a car" is exactly what a restoration is, no? Not all parts of a car can be salvaged and restored back to new condition.

I like what he provides to the community by way of saving money, such as the size.name website for serpentine pullies, and how to get around parts that have long been obsolete etc. All very valuable info for pre 2000 BMW owners.

Exactly; and he does it in a way that every DIY mechanic can only dream of (well, most) - ie. own workshop with superb tools & equipment, fearless in what he does, takes cars apart, restores them better than factory

His projects have been superb; his E39 touring and E92 M3 are fantastic. The E38 750iL he did early on was superb also; that was hell of a car
