Alloys are never worth scrap value unless they're bent beyond repair it cracked...

Would have fetched a few £hundred on ebay as someone would have bought them to refurb and reuse... Even if just for winter wheels etc...
Good point - thank you smile

I will dig them out of the garage and arrange for a refurb/tidy up and stick them on ebay.

They are straight and undamaged, just a bit scruffy.
Don't refurb them, just sell them as they are. Folk look for wheels like that to use for winters or for a spare set and will refurb them to their own tastes / specs etc

Just offer shipping (Paisley Freight) and get a huge roll of bubble wrap off Amazon and decent parcel tape etc... So charge £50 for delivery and that'll cover costs

^^Agree with Dan

FWIW, just had someone collect the replica Alpina alloys I started a thread on a couple of week back. Sold via eBay. They were otherwise gathering dust.

Agreed. Never been the biggest fan of MV1s.

When the 330Ci needs new tyres, I might actually swap the MV1 for the 17 inch Alpina softlines I have sitting in the garage.
I used to like them, but I don’t think they’ve aged very well and now just look old and dated. The MV2 is a much nicer design.

Dropped my 335i off at Rybrook Warwick for them to investigate the weird intermittent semi hot start issue which has come back. The tech suspects fuel pressure based on a conversation I had with him but no doubt the bloody thing won’t do it whilst they have it…

I’ve been given a brand new X1 as a courtesy car which I’m really not a fan off. It’s a wobbly old beast, the steering is way too light with zero feel and the brakes are over servo’d too. I kind of see why people like them but as someone who likes cars, I think it’s awful.

Someone who likes cars is unlikely to buy an X1.

Also, quite scary for someone really not used to this.

The fuel costs are savage at the moment….I paid £86 for just under three quarters of a tank thins morning. Psychologically I can’t cope with letting it run down until the light comes on! hehe

The X1 is pretty hateful though. It made me appreciate my old 335i a whole lot more!

This is why I needed to get the E91 fixed and back on wife's daily drive duty as soon as possible!

X5 with the V8, 85 litre fuel tank and 20mpg was not v economical!

I put £100.03 in the Z4 the other day, got 190 miles.

Still, 3rd gear sounds lovely at the top end

Cost me £90 to fill the 125i last time, which is looking to do about 270 miles, so not great, not terrible.

In better news, I've just driven it in the rain for the first time since having the Pilot Sport 5s fitted to the rear, and wow - colour me impressed. I've had the SuperSports spin up just pulling away from my drive before now in the wet, but these just grip with little fuss. Add in how much quieter they are than the old ones, I'd say these were highly recommended, if a little pricey (just over £200 a corner for 255/35).

I put £99 in the M6 a few weeks ago. I'm way past halfway to empty and have done less than 100 miles. I'll probably get another 30 miles before I will up again. This is beyond expensive now haha.

But 8000rpm noises etc ....can't help myself.

I must admit, I’d never bought the car to be sensible in, but at £2/litre I do find myself pottering a bit more, granny shifting etc. Until a set of lights or a good straight hehe

Boot strut replacement on the E91.

Unsurprisingly, this one wasn't holding any pressure. biggrin

Mine looked like that when I changed them too. Easy job and makes a difference. I genuinely don’t think I’d stand an electric bootlid- thinks for itself, deciding if it will or won’t close when I’m ambitious with the loading up, too slow, additional pointless weight, I can’t see the advantage?

I can open the boot while walking up to the car and close it by pressing a button. But yes, not sure if the real benefit as it’s much slower than opening it yourself.

It’s one of those things that you don’t need, but once you have it, you find you use it all the time. Very useful for opening and closing when it’s wet and dirty, you don’t get your hands dirty at all smile

Put £35 of diesel in the 120d and saying I will get 265 miles from that - another reason to keep hold of it for now. Offsets the X6 that takes £80 to get to half a tank and does about 23mpg frown

I heard my car properly from outside yesterday and it sounds pretty good….

We went to a friends house and my little boy wanted to ride his bike there. I didn’t think he’d back the ride back so my other half drove abs when she drove past it sounded pretty good. From inside the N54 sounds a but grumpy.
