Has the new bush made much difference? I’ve been meaning to do this for a while but not got round to it yet. Where did you get the bush from?
Yes, it’s virtually eliminated the slip in the gear change. Feels much better.

The bush was from my local dealer. It was a a tenner or so. Get some spare retaining clips just in case because they’re very easy to lose.

I machine polished and put a ceramic coating on my 640d 2 weeks ago and today I had to clean it after leaving under a pigeon's nest in Manchester.

The ceramic coating definitely works.

Coilovers have arrived for the 630i

woohoo

Getting them fitted next week, along with 10mm spacers, extended bolts and new centre caps for the alloys.

Mine's in for a service and having the wheels refurbed, and I must admit the courtesy car I've been given is very agreeable:

Only a 200 so no ball of fire, and as a bald middle aged man I look interesting with the hood down, but with the weather it's been a very pleasant way of moving around.

Fitted my Mishimoto intake pipe. Had to settle for blue because black was out of stock but it had 20% off so I can live with it.

I’ve also had my retrimmed parts back from Royal which have been fitted. Along with my wrapped trim.

That is the weirdest courtesy car I've ever seen? hehe What age is it?

I will admit I was quite shocked when he dropped it off - his usual courtesy cars are Minis, but on occasion he will drop off something from his personal stock if one isn't available. Over the years he's dropped off a 335d (yes, mapped), his wife's SLK, and various 3 Series, including a 330d SE I ended up buying from him. Work is always to a high standard and my car gets picked up from home, bit of a no brainer when I need work done smile

It's a 2004 with 68k on the clock and one lady owner. It is absolutely immaculate, and I am currently trying to persuade the wife it would be perfect for her smile

It has been sitting in the drive since I drove it back yesterday. The neighbours' curtains will be twitching, they know we only buy/have BMWs. hehe

Surprisingly good ride tbh. I probably won't be trading the X5 for a C-Max just yet.

Err... Bought another one.

E36 320i coupe. 57k, loads of history, and two owners from new. Early model with the M50.

Auto, which is a bit of a shame, but the good lady will be using it too, and she likes an auto.

Thanks, Helix. It’s a single VANOS one I believe on a K.

I know a 320 is Not going to set the world on fire, but the M50 is a great engine.

One of my old neighbours had one and I always enjoyed listening to it start up and drive off. A lovely noise. thumbup

To really waft in vehicle terms, you really need a surfeit of power so that the journey feels effortless. thumbup

I'd expect it to be a Vanos engine, I think it was introduced in 1992.

M50 is a fantastic engine, just watch that waterpump.

It is oft claimed that the 320i was the pick of the bunch from an aural point of view.

I suspect sitting on 15s, the ride will be better than 99% of modern BMWs!

Most BMW 6’s make a nice noise in all fairness, especially the older ones without PPF’s etc.
