Just ordered Bimecc 12mm hubcentric spacers with a 75mm stud conversion kit from Mteconline on eBay (been using them for years now); decided to treat myself to Bimecc spacers for a change as they've always been good (and light)!

Will fit them when I get chance & get some pics up

Sent my 2020 X3 M40i off on the back of a recovery truck... Had a low oil pressure, stop immediately warning appear. Hopefully, it'll get sorted relatively quickly and under warranty from the supplying dealer, I've only had it for two weeks!

Fitted a front strut brace to my F30. It made a surprising difference actually. I wasn't expecting much as bracing is usually placebo, but it seems the F3x platform is not as rigid as I first thought!
Really? Which did you go for?

TBH I thought they'd make little to no difference with how rigid the chassis is
The Hardrace one. BF deals at the moment smile

Don't get me wrong, it hasn't magically tuned it into an F80. It's more the dashboard noises when one wheel hits a sharp hole, which have completely gone that impressed me. It does feel more solid, not going to lie! I always thought they were a waste of time myself, but at that price, it was worth a punt.

I'll have a look

I've ordered the Ultra Racing one for my 130i; £100 delivered so thought may as well biggrin

It'll get fitted when it lands (same with the spacers / stud kit etc)

That looks good, nice once! Their F30 one looks pretty good too. The Hardrace one fouls the engine cover slightly on the right side, but I think that is due to the cover warping over time because of the heat when the DPF regens. I need to get creative with the heat gun and try and flatten it off again biglaugh I like that Ultra Racing specify different bars for petrol and diesel.

In other news, stocked up on oil, air and fuel filters from AutoDoc as it's their Black Friday. Should keep me going for years!

Had a few hours yesterday to play around with the suspension on my f11 - an attempt to start making it sit a little better.

Pretty much every car I have owned I have ended up lowering, this making no exception - I don't seem to get along with too much of an arch gap!

I swapped over the non-staggered 351M wheels for a set of staggered 613M, the 275 rear tyres look a little more purposeful from the rear and fill the arches a little better.
I prefer the look of the 613 despite them being 1" smaller.

I then fitted a set of lowering springs to the front (easiest spring swap I have ever done, absolute walk in the park), adjusted the rear ride height using ISTA and then fitted a set of 10mm spacers to the rear and 15mm to the front.

I usually like to go a litte lower, but dont want to take away any of the practicality this time.

That looks superb; the 613Ms are great wheels and suit the car well... 18s will be a better ride all in too

Another 4 hour round trip to see relatives after 4 hours on Fridays and 9 hours the Friday before - the E39 is still an excellent mile muncher.

Washed the two weeks of grime from the E39, and started up the 635CSi - I also emptied and replaced the tablet in the dehumidifier in the 635CSi.

^^I didn't know Hankook was now OE supplier for tyres on the M5.

Is that for all BMW now?

F11 535i.

My second 35i variant. Previously had a N54 manual 335i, so will be interesting to see what the ZF8 and N55 are like in comparison though.

It's a bit leggy at 143k though

Haven't BMW always used a selection of OEMs for tyres? Admittedly it's been a while since I was involved in ordering a new one, however I do remember me old man asking if they could fit Michelin to his cars and they normally came from the factory with those over the Bridgestones etc.

For some reason I thought a preference for Michelin back in the day (think SuperSports on the E46 M3) and then tended to Bridgetstone with the introduction of RFTs. First time I've seen Hankook as factory fit (but then again...I'm not exactly in showrooms looking at new BMWs on a regular basis...anything that isn't an EXX is 'new' to me. hehe)
