^^I didn't know Hankook was now OE supplier for tyres on the M5.

Is that for all BMW now?
Not sure; there were other motors there with Bridgestone, Goodyear and Michelins on as well. All brand new cars in the showroom!

F11 535i.

My second 35i variant. Previously had a N54 manual 335i, so will be interesting to see what the ZF8 and N55 are like in comparison though.

It's a bit leggy at 143k though
Sounds a good motor; I wanted an F11 535i as well but at the time couldn't find one. Great engine and box; the ZF8 in our F31 is superb

Haven't BMW always used a selection of OEMs for tyres? Admittedly it's been a while since I was involved in ordering a new one, however I do remember me old man asking if they could fit Michelin to his cars and they normally came from the factory with those over the Bridgestones etc.
BMW, like VAG, just buy what ever is cheapest that meets the minimum requirement. Surprised to see anything other than a Pilot Sport on an M car though as the head of M division is very picky about steering and tyres. Maybe they've just plonked the Michelins on the options list now?

For some reason I thought a preference for Michelin back in the day (think SuperSports on the E46 M3) and then tended to Bridgetstone with the introduction of RFTs. First time I've seen Hankook as factory fit (but then again...I'm not exactly in showrooms looking at new BMWs on a regular basis...anything that isn't an EXX is 'new' to me. hehe)
All sorts. E36s and E34s came with Uniroyals for some time. As others say it just depends, Hankook have made big roads into OE tyres though, and probably worked with BMW to support such a heavy thing and make it go around corners.
E46 M3 had the original Pilot Sport tyres, with the coolest tread pattern ever. smokin

Funnily the only time I set foot in a BMW dealer is to collect parts or for recall work. hehe

Well picked up and driven the 80ish miles home.
Beautiful car, very comfy and was sitting at 38mpg until I got stuck in traffic on the M25.
Ended up on 35.5mpg for the whole trip which is awesome.

Sold my M2!

Had planned to advertise it after christmas but ended up putting it online a week or so ago, with no real expectation that it would sell any time before spring to be honest.

3 people were on the car in that week. One guy was very keen but had a E46 M3 convertible that he was looking to part ex. Looked like a lovely car, and i think we could maybe have dealt. Another guy was going to come out this weekend. Third guy came out, saw it, was beaming from ear to ear "i have to own this!" (not such a good negotiation tactic hehe ), and he has bought it.

You hear about theres no money about and people "need" finance but there was three people who had £25K to stump up.

Pleasantly surprised it has sold so quickly to be honest.

Pic for posterity

Not sure what i'll buy next to be honest. I've the Golf TDI so i'll probably winter it out in that. I'm going to wait until i wake up some morning thinking "i'd really like to buy a.....".

Sorry to hear it's gone; but a great and faff-free sell. Always a good thing..

What's made you sell and do you have any idea what could be next?

It always felt like an itch i wanted to scratch. I'm glad i owned it but it just felt like it was time to move on.

I've talked before about a E92 M3 V8 so thats maybe on the cards.

On the other end of the scale a friend of a friend has a 2017 Golf GTI Clubsport 40. 30K miles. 3 door. Manual. Nursed like a baby. Hes supposedly selling it soon. I've a bit of a soft spot for Golfs.

It is a real shame to see that go for me.

However...I can see an E92 M3 possibly incoming though! biggrin

Today I got my M4 back from the local specialist. All three 3 seals were leaking on the differential so they took it out, refreshed , fixed , cleaned and new diff oil. Followed by an engine oil and filter change. Last week it had a brake fluid change so should be fresh for a few months!

Great communications, explanation, clear invoice and attention to detail from Redish. Was lucky to get an appointment this side of Christmas and looking forward to driving my M4 again after roughing it in my 21 year old TT with really heavy steering!

Thought about chopping in the M140i for a dabble on a low mileage used G87 M2. They’re porky but Lichfield has a 620 bhp ECU tune that now makes it a belter for the money @ circa £48K.

Looks good, mines absolutely minging and not been cleaned in well over a month. Didn't help having weekly trips to Manchester for 3 weeks for a training course.

Tomorrow's looking a bit calmer weather so I'll get it sorted then hopefully.

Yeah took advantage if it being calm and cool today; it was blowing a hoolie here last night and the cars were absolutely covered in leaves and detritus from the woods etc

Plus we carted the Christmas tree home in it on Thursday; so the back was full of pine needles etc biggrin

Finally got around to fitting the winter wheels and tyres to my 330i.

No photo as they are the same awful Style 158s as my summers!
