I've got some M550i parts left over in the garage I could do with selling before moving house:

Carbon mirror caps
CS carbon spoiler
Brand new BMC drop ins

Message me if you want any bits in particular!

I'm pretty sure that's against PH rules

Taking delivery of a 550 next week and thing I can’t gel with is the wheels.
What model are yours? Are they OEM?

Where did you manage to find one if you don’t mind me asking. They are so rare and none of the examples on autotrader currently are that reasonably priced in my opinion.

I’m currently looking for one, so hard to find decent spec examples that are low ish mileage. One popped up this week on AT, £40,000 private sale, 71 plate, 27k mileage, fully loaded. Went quickly, now it’s for sale at BMW Enfield for £47,500. Gutted.

It's a BMW approved one that had just arrived so was lucky to be one of the first to call. Higher mileage though at 42k but also very high spec (full leather which I haven't seen anywhere else).
I wouldn't want to buy one without BMW warranty as I'm a bit scared about the potential engine issues...

I wouldn’t be concerned to be honest, this version of the N63 is reasonably reliable by all accounts. It’s been through several updates since it was originally designed. Nothing like the horror show of the earlier ones.

Yes it seems to be the case, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

Hello!

Picked it up yesterday and drove it back the long way round.
Well put together and comfy, perhaps a bit too much. But then it was never allowed to encroach on the M5 I guess.
Engine is very strong!

Initial observations is that turn in is vague, it rolls a lot and steering feel is poor.
I can see why OP installed front camber arms and M5 roll bars, I will follow suit at some point.

Other slight gripe is throttle response is noticeably dumbed down in the 1st two gears, assume it’s to protect the drivetrain. Anything that can be done here?

It’s a great all rounder otherwise and I like that it looks like a 520d, wanted something more inconspicuous after my previous car was stolen.

With respect to the response, it could be the case that the ECU adapts to throttle inputs over a number of miles and its yet to do so

Could well be that, iirc the BMW box is a 'clever' box that does adapt to how you drive it? A couple of spirited drives may well sort it out a bit?

Very nice

It is meant to be a 5 series so not surprised on the comments re steering feel but personally I just think the M5 set up is too aggressive and stiff for UK roads so definitely want to get into one of these. One of my mates keeps telling me to test drive an M5 but I just know the competition set up will do my nut in over poor roads. Of which there are plenty.

In fairness poor steering feel is pretty wide ranging on modern BMW's even the M cars suffer from it

Just the M5comp ARBs make a huge difference on the body roll.

For throttle response, press dsc once so it's in half mode, it is MASSIVELY less limited in 1st and 2nd. It's hugely different. Try it.
