Calipars should be replaced in pairs, as should the brake discs with new pads as should the brake fluid as you would have guaranteed to boil it in the siezed calipar.

This happen to me too in an X5 - they refused to replace the discs as they were below minimum thickness - if they are above this, then these are replaced too under warranty.

A heated steel disc will fracture much more easily if heated to the levels you inticated (ie red hot)so make sure they have done the job properly and not just installed one new calipar...



brake calipers do not need replacing in pairs,disc's and pads do though,some of the later bmw's do suffer with sticking calipers.
