So now "all bikes" will be banned due to noisy exhausts?? Wow...drama central.
Look what's happening in Germany. A proposal to ban all IC bikes from the roads on Sundays just because some riders think it's clever to make a ridiculous din.Rat_Fink_67 said:

See the Germany thread and Sundays / Holidays. As everything in life - the few will ruin it for the many.
If banned the loud riders will hopefully carry the burden of responsibility.
FTR, I don't want bikes, cars or anything banned - but clearly from this thread, there are those that can not see how their Loud bikes and obnoxious riding styles (as above, wtf is the 'twist' / blat of revs on a bike in crawling traffic for?) could have a net effect in having all bikes banned.
Shame a few can manage to fk it up for the rest.

Bikes or cars, for me it's more to do with the quality of the sound rather than the volume. A boring engine with loud pipes is just boring and loud. But e.g. an old Vincent or a 90s Ducati sounds wonderful without needing to be oppressively loud.
AgreedAnd this has nothing about disliking the sounds bikes make. When I grew up loved the sounds of Kettles, Guzzis and Japanese multis.
Today still love hearing a good twin, triple or 4.

No one would know the bikes were there, until the loud pipes ....

Would you like to wager on who will win out ? The Bikers will be allowed to continue, or the previously mentioned 90% vote get them banned? Kevin_Birth said:

Are planes modified by their owners to make as much noice as possible.... ? orrrrrrrrrrrrr are plane owners seeking ways to make their planes quieter, so they are deemed less obnoxious, and they will be granted leniency in operations ?

A Harley is not an aircraft, and the local roads aren't runways. Apart from that, an absolutely spot on bit of reasoning.Rat_Fink_67 said:
There's that word again. Why is there this obsession that people think aftermarket exhausts are only fitted for "attention". Could it not be that the owner likes the look or sound?
likes the sound but cares not one jot for those who do not.....well done you have just butt fuc@@@ your own argument.
