All back together , running crisp and ready for decent weather.

Took two years mind since the crank case smashed itself, and two weeks ago I decided to pull my finger out.

Don't know if you've seen Rigga but webike Japan are now selling re production LC barrels and head kits, but nikasil, no liner. Hopefully you won't need them and I'm not tempting fate but good to know nonetheless

Fuel injected 2 stroke really interests me, if they clean up the exhaust it could find a future imo.

Don't hold your breath.. it is supposedly a bit more frugal than a carbed bike like my old beta and doesn't need as much oil in the fuel mixture... But ultimately it's still a smoker.

Yes have been mentioned on the LC forum, look good to be fair, and plated is an upgrade, but their not cheap, someone has just had a set delivered , over a grand, but, they look good, have standard lc porting, and importantly, not knackered old cylinders that have been the only way previously.

I've a few spares, but all need either a rebore, or re sleeve, which again isn't cheap.

Options are good though to keep the old knacker alive.

I think there have been companies looking to remove the need for lubrication oil to be burned.

Using the same tech as KTM use would be enough to clean them up massively - they're injected 2T and smokeless

Hi my name is Mark, my partners name is Kim and we like scooters.

Now that’s out of the way.
Bit of an impulse buy from MrsSafari today. A 2007 Vespa 250 GTS.

From what I can gather it came from the Isle of Man not too long ago and was owned by a guy who worked for McLaren? Supposedly painted in McLaren P1 Grey, silver or something?? And the seat trimmed in McLaren fabric? Horses**t or not I don’t know? It also appears to have bitubo suspension too?

Either way it rides canny and is a decent enough little run around.

Some great pictures on here. Mines a bit boring in comparison, but means a lot to me. First ride out with a friend to a coffee stop in Whitby.

Started CBT five years ago, after riding trials bikes for a few years. Spot of ill health followed/ bikes all sold and didn’t think I’d be able to do this… fast forward a few years and a friends starts his CBT/ DAS and I think why not, what’s the worst that can happen.

Anyway tests all done and here’s the new bike.

That looks good. The wheels look to have been painted black and the rim polished, plus that plate over the clutch is polished too. You might be able to tell if it's a repaint by looking at the inside of one of the panels for overspray in either this new paint or the original paint.

Poles apart to be honest, makes the beta feel like an old tractor

Had a bit of a break in the weather so me and a mate headed out for a bit of a bimble about this afternoon, roads were damp in places and a lot of gravel about so bikes are filthy now but it was nice to get out for a bit!
