Cooper been disqualified from both Supertwin races for an illegal modification apparently
Fairing bracket was the reason initially he was not allowed onto the grid for the second race, appealed as it passed scrutiny all week, and gave no performance advantage. Bummer after his dominant performance if that's the result.

That's on the superstock bike, I wonder if he damaged the tyre slightly when he ran off the track then rejoined. Could have been what started that delamination.
Could be, certainly explains his loss of speed as he had made a great recovery up to when he started having issues, could see the front mudguard rattling about, as I presume it was being peppered by bits of tyre.Saturday races here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0c5r94b/nw2... for those who missed it as they were out on their bikes in the glorious weather yesterday.
Slow motion video of Michael Dunlop's Dunlop exploding here:

What a save! How fast is that section of the track?
Im sure I read on here that one of the rumored reasons for Michael Dunlop not riding the PBM was he wanted to use Dunlop tyres....
Whats going to happen for the TT?

Turns out the fairing bracket mod, as stated by the team, was actually a bit more than that.Frame modifications are outlawed, but it seems a frame rail was cut off, and replaced with a flat bar
Surprised they though that was acceptable, seems a rival team member (technical side, not rider) saw it and protested, picture below, although different sides of the bike, shows the change.

Thanks, intresting post. TV coverage was convincing that it was purely a fairing mount. I wonder why and what the benefit was.Frame modifications are outlawed, but it seems a frame rail was cut off, and replaced with a flat bar

Listening to RF being interviewed you didn't get that impression. You can't argue with that, he's cut a frame rail off! Frame modifications are outlawed, but it seems a frame rail was cut off, and replaced with a flat bar

Wonder how did scrutineering not spot that.
Most scrutineers just do the same basic checks from bike to bike, whether it be a fireblade or a CB500. It's a check to make sure the vehicle is fit to be used in competition not an eligibility check. It's a very blantant contravention of the regs and I feel sorry for Cooper having risked life and limb riding the thing to get fk all for it.
