Anyone going to buy some shares? They are very tempting at the current price.
Absolutely not. 2.5 - 3B in debt, keeping on the same management bunch that got them into this mess and not enough money to pay staff wages for Nov or December eek

They write about cars it's a bit like asking MCN to know about British F4 or BTCC or British rallying.
or asking them to produce any decent bike content

Are these 790,s a good deal at £5,995 ( reads £2,000 off ) , seems really cheap for a new bike , but I guess all this above could effect dealers ?

If the worst happens, I suppose you could get spares from CFMoto or Kove. biglaugh

Do you want a Duke 790?

The CF-Moto take on it called NK800 or somesuch, with the same motor, with a 4 year warranty has been advertised at £5500 and the Advanced one with the huge tablet dashboard that allows Apps £6000. I can't get past the looks.

I've seen unregistered Suzuki GSX-8S advertised for under £7K.

2024 model year CB750 Hornets and Triumph Trident 660s discounted below £7K, but updated ones coming for 2025 with more bells and whistles.

Which is all very well, but I reckon they'll go down with KTM if the worst happens, so spares would become an issue across all their brands....

I bought one last year at that price, with hindsight I wouldn't have bothered. Mind you, I know of someone who paid list, £8k thinking that was a good deal.

If they have 890R at a discount that might be worth it. But then again you maybe creating your own problems down the line should the worst happen and the Warranty/spare parts grinds to a halt.

As moanthebairns typed above they've been that price before.

If the company are in a precarious position and dealers have stock they need to get rid of will they get cheaper? The thread has discussed how regular discounts impact on resale value.

They were discounting Duke 790s Easter 2019 or 2020, it may've been £790 off or £790 worth of Powerparts accessories. Lockdown messed with my internal clock, so unsure of which year. It was the previous model year with the black painted seat subframe and orange wheels. I had a brief demo ride but it was a Saturday afternoon and the traffic was heavy and I'd ridden a couple before.

Oh please, nothing is going to happen to KTM, they need better management but they aren't going anywhere. They are part owned by Bajaj which is the most valuable 2 wheeler manufacturer and sell millions of bikes every year.

The internal administration is a cool period to re-organise the business, debts, maybe sell off some brands, whatever - they will emerge stronger and better from this. Aston Martin have been scuffing along on the bones of their arse for years, so were Jaguar before the various previous buyouts, MV Augusta before being bought for the second or third time, Ducati has had 3 or 4 owners in the last 20 years and is doing very well.

It's not the end, it's a re-start of the most exciting motorcycle brand and KTM will continue producing fantastic bikes that thrill and entertain more than pretty much any other manufacturer. All hail KTM smile

CF Moto is another giant motorbike manufacturer, Chinese this time. They have a deal with KTM to buy KTM engines, possibly more.

I have not posted on Pistonheads for years but now find myself so livid with the amount of uneducated comments regarding the reliability of KTM Motorcycles, in particular the 790 engines that i had to say something.
Not only do i currently own 2 KTMs and have owned many more, i work with the bikes everyday of my life. Yes there is an issue with camshaft/followers on the 790 engines but only on the 2019/2020 models of which i have only seen 3 failures out of the many many dozens of bikes which i have dealings with.
I agree that KTM could have have handled it better and reacted a bit quicker but each of these bikes were repaired at no cost to the customer.
As for the post's complaining about the KTM warranty procedure, if the service history is good and the dealer has followed all the procedures correctly when making the claim KTM are one of the quickest out there to get authority from. As with all these things, sometimes we only here half the story.
Regarding the man who's bike was in a dealer for 6 weeks to get discs changed under warranty, i would change your dealer.
No, i do not work for KTM

I've been on the 790/890 failure group on Facebook for a while.

There are now later bikes feeding through as the mileage/time adds on to them. So its not just 19/20 era.

The fix didn't address the oil feed narrow gallery did it. It's not flowing through correctly.
