I was overtaken in the most outrageous manner on Sunday by a gixxer
Wasn't sure what you were going to say there since I'm fairly sure that I'd just landed a wheelie before hurtling past you on Sunday. You knew I was going to though

PS I think the threads been summed up beautifully. Took a while though.

ha ha. I think you lot will be rather surprised at how fast ANY* bike can be flung up the road with the right rider being a bit mad... not that I would know of course.
bikes, doncha just love 'em?
* sv650 springs to mind. Then again, the old cruiser proved to be highly embarrassing to many a Duke / R1. Sheesh. How can that be?
Well red all three pages som folk talkin B*****ks and others makin sense.
I have both fast car, yep its a TVR, and a Busa and riding a bike for the past 8 years has without a doubt made me a better car driver.
I do ocasionally drive as fast as I can open the throttle on the bike but car drivers have this habit of not moving out of you way sepcially on the dual carridgeways its like they got it in for you cos you on a bike thet doin 60 an will not move over either they are just ignorant, or the usual car driver that ends up sayin "sorry mate I din't see you" line jus after they dun a u turn in a line of quening traffic coz they got fed up of q-ing behind caravans on a bank holiday.
There rant over

Deliberatly inflammatory postings are not all that respectful of other members, eat disk space and are generally not welcome.

Oh, I see.... register anonymously just to add your biggoted comments. COCK!
I would hazard a guess that you are one of the previous posters on this subject as you have dragged it out of the history file.
Anyway - 22 years of riding sportsbikes - I have no intention of meeting a premature death so stick that in your collection of pipes from around the world and smoke it.

Ted or Dennis the Menace,
Can this content be reviewed and be dealt with as necessary; this sort of stereotyping/generalising is known as baiting.
We all use the roads in all guises, be it 2 or 4 wheels, the idea is that we can all become more tolerant of each other and more importantly more aware. This post displays a great deal of intolerance to bikers in 'general' and will no doubt cause some heated reactions in this forum.

Note to the management:
Ta kindly.
and on a nicer note,
I seem to see more and more car drivers this summer moving over slightly so you can get a good view past. Obviously a biker will overtake in his own time, but getting a better view past and a little bit of room always will be rewarded with a hand or knee out in acknowlegdment.
Keep it safe amigos!

Although I agree with free speech in principle I'm in favour of the moderator removing the post on this occasion - I abhor those who post anonymously - coward.
Anyway - VT got it spot on - we are all car drivers too so let's all make an effort with some positive PR this summer by thanking courteous drivers wherever possible.

I'm pleased to say that I do that (if I see you in time). I go at my own speed and if a bike wants to get past I'm happy to help. After all there's little point in trying to race one!
In fact once recently I did get an acknowledgement. Mutual respect is good.
