Does anyone have a parts list for a refresh of engine, gearbox and diff mounts for a gen 3 SRT10?

I'd like to tighten up the feel of the drivetrain on mine. I know these cars aren't the last word in drivetrain refinement, but after 16 years (and 38k miles!), I'd like to have a go at making mine as good as it can be. There's also a fair bit of drivetrain shunt/backlash, but I believe some is to be expected...?

Disclaimer: I'm not massively mechanically minded - although I do have a very good garage nearby who specialise in kit cars/TVRs/imported stuff, and are OK with me turning up with a box of bits and a crate of beer...

Have a look at this website, I've found the following info on https://www.moparonlineparts.com/year/2003-dodge-v...

Transmission Mount - Mopar (4643318AC) approx $30
Engine Mount Insulator, Left - Mopar (4642617AB) approx $65
Engine Mount Insulator, Right - Mopar (4643530AB) approx $26

Couldn't find the diff mount part number (is there such a thing?)

Will be interested if you feel the car has improved, mine has a fair bit of backlash/jerkiness when going slow in stop/start traffic, and didn't know if it was normal

Sonicbloo - that's really helpful - thanks for the detailed post.

I'll get those ordered. I'll also see if I can find the part numbers for the gearbox mount(s) and diff mount (if there is such a thing) and post on here.

I'm sure the car could be a little tighter, but I read a review of this model of Viper from an American site a while back and they mentioned how 'uncouth' it was in traffic, bucking and snorting! It gives the car character!

I ordered these parts for the same reason a few years ago - yet to fit them due to laziness. The differential has a carrier and the carrier has a few bushes which I gather are a total PITA to replace - requires taking the diff out of the car - your/our pres has done this job on his car with some privately made poly mounts. I doubt that without changing all rubber parts and moving links the car will ever be anything like new though and even then it was never 'smooth' in this respect.

Replaced mine last year, Gen 3 with similar miles, one engine mount was almost split right through!

Went with Poly bushes from Roe racing, silly money but made a huge difference, the poly gearbox mount is a lot cheaper & available from most Viper shops, pretty much essential even if you keep standard motor mounts. You can actually hit 3rd gear when pressing on...

Yeah, sometimes 3rd can be a little reluctant!

Think I’ll get the front mount too, part numbers are listed as 4861295AB, 4861430AB, 4861314 or 04861295AB, but I think they’re all the same thing?

I had a serious problem trying to get 3rd gear in my gen2 when revving hard, ive changed to the poly mounts as my old rubber ones had drooped with age and the weight of the engine and can pleasantly say that I can get 3rd gear when revving hard.
Its never going to be the quickest gear change but its a lot better than it was.

On the Rock Auto website the Anchor Engine mounts are currently £3.35p each!
