Ariel Rolling chassis

I've been looking around and the Atom seems more and more fun. I am tired of the practicality of the elise but have spent some money on the engine.
Do you guys think it would be possible to buy one as a rolling chassis? then I could throw my engine into it ,smart huh!..

well that was the plan. The elise has a K series in it. I currently am getting close to 200bhp out of it and wanted to use this engine in the atom as opposed to starting again with a 120bhp K..
I spoke with Simon, and he still wants too much for a rolloing chassis. So I was wondering if any owners out there wanted to sell (He claims 80 where sold, so at least somebody should be selling)

Out of interest, if you don't mind me asking LRDriver, how much was Simon after?

I was interested in this route but as LRDriver suggested the chassis price was prohibitive, would make a nice package with the Honda engine conversion that www.prototyperacing.com have on offer.

IIRC it was 14-15K plus VAT..and that was for one of the second hand ones.. I think they just subtract the cost of a "K" ie 1000 quid from the price, so I too, thought that was a bit OTT..
