I've just noticed that the new ball joint I'm fitting does not have much movement
As to the old one it was bought from a tvr specialist ?

Aftermarket ball joints are much cheaper than from TVR dealers but they are fatter around the 'ball' part which means they are difficult or impossible to fit in the suspension arm. This limits how far you can adjust them inwards so you will lose some camber movement. You can try grinding them so they are thinner. Or buy ones from Powers, TVR Parts etc which although dearer, do actually fit properly. They were originally from old Saabs where they are fitted top and bottom in a different arrangement.
