It's not silly to ask about fuel consumption if you have no idea - as long as you ignore it once you get in the car.

I often mistake my fuel gauge for the clock, and judging by the movement of the needle its quite understandable.

I was out looking for a 4.3 as all the reading I had done convinced me that a 4.0 would feel fairly pedestrian and not much different to the S2 I was changing up from.

In the end I went for the best overall "car" on condition, mileage, history, etc and ended up with a 4.0.. it actually felt just as quick as the 4.3 I'd been in the day before..

If you convince yourself you are shoppinbg for an engine size and not an overall nice car, you've got a lot more looking to do, and may not actually end up with the "right" one in the end.

Cheers
Matt.

Quite right too, any more than 30 and Mr Plod would be after you!

Good decision! On the road the differences are really marginal. The track is a different matter
