As many (?) will have realised.....I failed....(but I will blame the unexpected Covid...) however progress has been made.

Sorry guys...I am finding less and less time for my "Garage Candy" MBG GT V12 and I need the space.

And it is now gone!

As I have been getting the car ready for collection I have been doing several little jobs which I had accumulated! The rear wings have been better aligned and secured, the XJ-S lighting switch has been modified and now has a place in the dashboard. There is a bit of wiring loom for the water temp sensor and electric radiator fan, the excess wiring between the two coils has been cut out and the ends soldered. there is a general tidy up and it is looking more of a car....Pics to follow.

Sorry Sooty.....
but I am still doing bits before it goes.
Meanwhile, at the back of the car, the battery is now in its box and connected to Earth and the cut-out switch. It even all fits behind the alloy sheet!

Well I tried to start it yesterday and the starter just went "Clunk!". I tried with another battery and that was no better so I took the starter motor off and tried testing it with jump leads from another car .... and that didn't even "clunk!" So I am a bit stuck.....I think the starter is actually ok but I cannot get a good connection to a good battery!

I was right! It was poor connections as I tried again and the starter motor worked correctly.
I put it in the car and it still worked.
Then I ran the fuel pump, connected the ignition wire and churned the starter...cough,,cough brmmmm, cough...switch off, check pipes, running on 8 ish.
Tried again, cough BRMMMM, Whap!, Whap! switch off...check the pipes running on at least 10!

Next is to start it in the air and put it into "D"
Then put it back on the ground, start it and put it into "D" and hope the brakes work!

Well the gearbox works!
I did a bit of tidying up of the wiring so that I have a working ignition switch on the dashboard. Then I started the car whilst it was still up at the back, put it into "D" and the wheels went round. Put it into "R" and they went round the other way. Then I got it down on the floor and worked it out of its space, got the front wings down and onto the car, put the bonnet on......
And have left it till tomorrow as it is getting too late for loud cars!

...I've driven the MeGa B!
It goes forwards and backwards and - from the tarmac track - it even spins the back wheels with little provocation!
So although there are still quite a few bits to tidy up I am content for it to go to somebody else. (He is still trying to get a reasonable transport quote hence the delay)
