I recently took my XK8 for a service at the local dealer, who informed me that a wheel bearing needed changing, when changing it, they broke the ABS sensor. Is this usual? Are they dificult to take out? They told me that i must pay for the new sensor because this is a regular occurance. Therefore i am £150 out of pocket. Anybody got any comments to make on this? Should the dealer have paid for the new sensor?

When I was a dealer (not Jag) we would have warned the customer of the risk (assuming it's a regular occurance), then charged 'em if it happened. If it's not a regular occurance, then somebody has been ham fisted & the dealer should pay.

(On the face of it )
