Picked up the new car friday, noticed that the drivers door won’t shut properly and have to give it a right thud to get the warning on dash off!

Gearbox always feels very sluggish ..

Also regretting getting the 22inch alloys is the ride is a bit different to the car I test drove with 21inch wheels

Friend of mine picked up a new Q7 last week, had exactly the same issue with the passenger door. Dealer fixed it.

Tyre choice is one of form over function I’m afraid. I always go for the smallest rim/tallest sidewall that doesn’t look cack on the Q7 because it rides better. 21” on mine are fine IMO.

The 50tdi engine has a known lag compared to the 272bhp engine. I have a Q7 vorsprung on the older engine as I sourced one with delivery mileage whilst the facelift seemed to be the only choic out there. New rules means they have killed so much new cars with the filters etc they are adding.

I e heard that keep it in sport/dynamic and it’s helps slights from the roundabouts as you say

Mine drivers door did the same, i just thought it was the seals were a bit 'springy'. I had it since March and it doesn't appear to be an issue now - or i'm closing it with more of a thud.

The lag is better is less noticeable in dynamic mode, but you do get used to it after a while.... but its far from ideal, I've read that some have rejected cars because of it!

The MMI linking up with my phone can take ages with mine too, sometimes I can use Apple car Play straight away, other times i have to reconnect which is a little frustrating.

On the positive side fuel economy appears better than our previous X5.
