I guess this is an impact for if we get car in June or later? - I wonder if you will have to turn this off everytime you start the car - not that I ever go over 70 of course - asking for a friend

I read that as cars launched after a certain date not built. So I am not sure but would assume in reading that this will not effect vehicle’s already in series production. I may be wrong!

The Golf already has a speed limiter, so there won't be any change. Even my Mark IV Golf from 2001 had a limiter!!!

ETA: For clairty, I'm referring to the function where you pre-set the limit, and not the 155mph limit (which presumably exists in the background too)

latest update from the dealer from me - BW 37 unconfirmed so ETA August

I could wait until August - lets hope it doesn't get pushed back anymore

I am getting the same message. It was June/July at point of order. I can wait to end of Oct as a worst case as I have extended my 8 series on the same terms - good job I did.

September now for me! Cannot wait that long, read some horror stories I have a feeling these orders may turn out to be one of those.

I think we are in the same batch mate so seems like mine will be the same. My Touareg just moved back a month to October (ordered March 21). What a mess.

Are you sure? I've had dozens of them and never been aware of a limiter... do you mean the speed warning per chance? This is just a dong noise, and has no affect or limit on performance.

Anyone got any delivery updates or news?
I've bought some paddle shift extenders and black mirror caps for mine.

Nice the paddle extenders may have to stay in the box till November! Or at least that’s what Inchcape Cheltenham mentioned to me this week!

This is my worry last day of Oct my 8 series goes and with a new born I can't be without a car. I do have a fall back as I haven't cancelled my Focus order but it would be a shame to miss out on this CS

Haha not sure confirmed is strictly the right word however I know where you are coming from. TBF I do not know if these orders will come forwards or backwards and it seems neither do VW! I need a car before November that is a fact! It’s a right pickle for sure. If you go for the Ford and I stay with the Golf(unlikely) can I have first dibs on the paddles please.

Yes - on the Mk IV it was a toggle switch between limiter and cruise control. You could breach the limit but it required you to put your foot to the floor. A speed warning was also evident, but it definetely limited the performance until you realised what was going on.

My current Cupra Leon has the same. On the odd occasion I've set it to limit and not cruse control it takes a second before you understand why it feels like the performance is stunted.

Same on my XC90.
