I think it depends on what you mean by ride quality Emma. 15's are definately more "springy" but there is no issue with poor ride quality on 17's (with 40 profile tyres) in my experience.

You can get 18's on there but honestly it's better to go with 17s as the choice of wheel is so much better. Also 205/40/17 tyres are a fair bit cheaper than 205/35/18s and easier to source too.
